quester, I generally concur with your assessment of razor. I think you articulated a lot of things that disappointed me when I watched it. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting when I watched it earlier with Beau, but we were both disappointed. I think I expected to see more depth of character of Cain and others on the ship before they met up with Galactica.

Beau said that he had the sneaking suspicion that half of "Razor" was extras from the Pegasus episodes that they decided to cobble together with an additional plot.
I think this is much more negative and cynical than my take, but I can kind of see where he is coming from.

I finally watched Razor last night. I also failed to recognize Gina, other than a "hey, she seems familiar" sort of way.
I really liked seeing Lee and Kara together before things got so weird between them and I didn't miss Baltar at all. (Sorry, P-C.)
Having said that, I thought the Cain/Gina thing helped explain why Gina was treated so poorly, but I was very bothered by how far Cain was willing to go (massacre, shooting XO, etc.) There's a difference between hardcore and psycho.

Okay, so I guess I'm still bothered by Adm. Cain (Caine? Kane?) and her decision to kill those civilians. But even more than that, I'm bothered by Adama's "well, we weren't there, we can't judge" attitude at the end.
Her decision was *nothing* like the issue with nuking the Cylon ship - she sent her soldiers to kill fellow humans when her own ship was only 25% manned.

Finally watched last night too. Yeah, it went beyond hardcore in my book. But we were there, and Adama wasn't and I understood his stand. She had gone off the deep end, but Adama interest in protecting her in history came from a self-preservation place. Judge not...
The Cain/Gina was odd in that it felt forced to me and not integrated well enough. Sounds good enough in theory, but they didn't make me believe it.
It wasn't stellar, but it was good to hear the lovely BSG music and see all those nummy faces again. Bit of BSG fix is better than none.

I watched Torchwood! Excellent snoggage there.
Also, any episode where Owen gets shot is always a highlight. It's so aggravating that his emotional arc is the one driving the end of the season! Dear Ianto: Call me! Love, Nora
