'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

That Torchwood episode really shows off the acting chops of quite a few actors -- I think that John Barrowman did his best work in his scenes with 'John', but Burn Gorman really hit it out of the ballpark.

All is well that ends in pizza.

This was "Out of Time," right? The airplane?

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Ohh, I liked that episode of TW.

Also, Jewel's character on SGA is very unlikeable. More so in this last episode. I was almost hoping Teyla would go off and leave her on the bridge. I hope they strengthen the character very quickly. It's weird. I have no experience disliking Jewel on the screen. Even in Wonderfalls, I liked her.

Huh. I was wondering if the actress playing Teyla was pregnant because that romance and cliff-hanger came out of nowhere. I wish they would have done something more interesting than a secret lover that is now culled. Like she dreamed she was having sex with Ronon/and or Sheppard and then woke up pregnant. OH, or the Major Lorne soldier guy.

Yes, it would have been dumb, but Jason Momoa naked would have been worth it. Seems like a tragically missed opportunity.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

So, SGA was articulate Reavers and music stolen from The Village. And then Teyla discovers that the wounded guy is gathering intel and yet doesn't realize that he was the one who was the Wraith worshipper who ratted the Athosians out?!

The Teyla/Keller juxtaposition was just annoying and made me dislike both characters so very much.

And for a few scenes there, Jewel played terrified so well that she just highlighted how bad the rest of the show is. The quality of writing doesn't deserve an actress making the effort to make me believe she's terrified. I think most of the other actors get this and don't even bother. (Although the rest of the time Jewel nailed those lines like she was a born Stargater:flat, awkward, annoying.)

But I did like the music. Thieves

I was just glad to see an episode letting Teyla be smart and tough and leaderly -- she gets such short shrift (and not the good one we know) usually.

Pity Keller had to be the character along for the ride -- I'd have liked to see Sam teamed up with her, because I think the differences in style and competing egos would have been fun, plus a lot less whimpering and more kicking ass....

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It's hard to imagine more whimpering.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Also, Jewel's character on SGA is very unlikeable. More so in this last episode. I was almost hoping Teyla would go off and leave her on the bridge.

They're lucky they have Jewel Staite, because I was about 90% sympathetic and only 10% annoyed. Much in the way they're lucky they have Hewlett to pull off their exposition in most episodes.

Torchwood-wise, I love "Out of Time". There's no monster. There's just this group of people, coping or failing to cope in their different ways. And the interactions between the out-of-timers and each of the Torchwood team, especially Gwen, Jack, and Owen, are really great, and so in character.

When I rewatched this episode, the bits with Jack and the 50-something guy just ripped my heart out. I almost couldn't watch. That scene with his son, who has Alzheimer's....god.

Plus, one of my favorite Ianto scenes. t points to tagline

They did excellent casting with their guest actors this episode.
