AHHHH. Broadway, not TV or Movies. OK. I didn't see a West Wing credit for her on IMDB, but I might have glossed over it.
Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Can I ask where the Kristen Chenoweth love comes from? I mean I like her and all (the musical number was AWSOME), but I don't know her from anything, and IMDB doesn't show me anything I would think I should know her from.
She won a Tony for the "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" revival a while ago. That's sort of when she really hit the national radar, I think. After that she had a short-lived series on NBC.
Chi McBride's character knits
Ironically, the narrator specifically says something about his purling to the end of the row, while McBride is obviously (and relatively correctly) knitting.
(purling:knitting::gloves:mittens)
I noticed that as well, Nutty. Ah, well. It only takes a wee, tiny, fraction of a portion of polish off the glow I felt at the whole knitting thing.
This show makes me SO HAPPY. Everything about it is just too adorable for words.
That's either Madeline or Louise from Gilmore Girls, I think.
You're probably thinking of Shelly Cole? She had a similar look but I don't think it's the same actress.
this show is my new favorite show. i don't think it could be any more adorable if it tried. please let the ratings stay up. pleasepleaseplease!!!
Every time I think the cuteness is going wee bit overboard, they throw in some wacky tart twist to keep it balanced. I love that. And much as I love Ned and Chuck, I've decided that Emerson is the glue that holds the show together. Without him, the preciousness would be insufferable.
Favourite bits:
- Tea cozies for handguns!
- Lily's collection of historical erotica and Emerson's reaction to the idea (heh)
- Olive bursting into a song out of the blue initially had me all, "the hell?" then they had Manuel the cleaning guy come in and there was the dancing and the interruption and the hilarious and vaguely uncomfortable-making Olive/Digby stuff. Digby howling at the song being interrupted! I love that dog.
- The idea of corpses hanging in the dummy room: nicely creepy to offset the sweetness.
- The sly references to Jeanine's anorexia. (The close-up of the laxative pillbox made me laugh and laugh, because I am twelve.)
- The fact that both the floor of Ned's own kitchen and the floor of The Pie Hole are a copy of his childhood kitchen where his mother first died.
- The frog revenge!
I could have done without the song number (sorry). It is okay if it is infrequent, but I hope there isn't a song next week. Other than that, I liked the ep, but it felt really light on story.
I too was definitely ready to run for the hallway when Olive started singing, but I began to really enjoy it, especially all the lovely camera angles and dancing with Digby.
