Gwen: Demon, OK? The whole nine—cloven feet and horns and teeth. He wasn't wearing lamé though. Lorne: Yeah, the evil ones can't pull it off. It gets camp.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Incidentally, Melina over on LJ has been keeping track of what gets cut out of Torchwood for time. The edits have really been well done, I think, and fairly minor, but you lost a big speech of Jack's this week.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Occasionally, I think about giving Torchwood another shot, but I had such a violently negative reaction to this episode (and I did give it a couple of more episodes after that, but "Countrycide" kinda put the nails in the coffin), I doubt I'd have a balanced response upon rewatch, even at this stage.

And now, I'll have to watch season 2 because (season 2 TW casting spoiler) Martha's going to be on the show and I adore Martha and not a little resentful about the fact. But if they put in the bits about the Master sending them on a wild goose chase to the Himalayas in the season opener, that might mollify me a bit.

My utter adoration of Ianto certainly helps.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

You do wonder about their hiring practices. Surely there are potential employees in Wales who don't hide murderous girlfriends in the basement, take home alien technology or randomly push buttons.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

The first I'll grant you, but

take home alien technology or randomly push buttons

I think may be hazards of the kind of person you'd want in the job. The first, especially.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, I think that I would have been happier with the idea that Capt. Jack knew that they were all "borrowing" the alien tech - but he certainly knew that it was a hazard - thus the rule.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

well I'd hope they at least hire people who would not (spoiler)

take advantage of alien technology to use as date rape drugs.

[Note based on past buffista discussion, so don't what episode of Torchwood the above spoils - one of the early one though.]

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

it was the first ep, Typo Boy.

this is where Reaper is being discussed, right? originally i wasn't going to watch because the commercials didn't make it look all that interesting. then people here and on lj started singing its praises. so i gave it a try. i loved it! i haven't like Bret Harrison in the various guest roles i've seen him in, but he's incredibly likeable in this. he and the sidekick are absolutely hilarious.

though i do wonder if this means we won't be seeing Missy Peregrym on Heroes this season...

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

i do wonder if this means we won't be seeing Missy Peregrym on Heroes this season.

Candace!!! I totally missed that.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

So did I. She looked so familiar, but I couldn't place her.

i do wonder if this means we won't be seeing Missy Peregrym on Heroes this season.

It's not very likely.
