Yes.
I love Officer Aeryn Sun. I don't know if I'm in love with her or want to be her.
::happy sigh::
I begin to suspect that my favorite character in the entire history of television is going to be Aeryn Sun. She's just that awesome. And I miss her something awful.
I love this mental image. I am so very wrong.
No, it's not wrong at all.
I think that it's one of those situations where she actually cares what he thinks, so she worries that he won't think she's smart. She doesn't care about the rest of the town.
Yes, but why the hell would she care about a worthless creep like *Zane*? Oh, man, I thought I hated him the first episode he showed up in, but then they started weakening Jo in favor of him... the hate doubled.
Well, they think a) Zane is worth some consideration and b) given consideration it is plausible to be shaken and c) Jo can be thusly shaken.
We're failing to buy (a) so everything else collapses. I'm willing to give them (a) for the sake of argument, actually believe (b). Not going to get me on (c)...but maybe that's the Jo they meant to have written the whole time (barf) and are correcting their course.
Yeah. If I'm repeating myself, apologies, but getting to see Jo fleshed out with all her wonderful layers and feminine touches underneath her aggressive/butch front (but I don't believe it is, I think that's a part of her as well) is not a natural lead-in for the reveal of... of... this.
It just screams in my head that being strong and yet feminine is, rather than a wonderful and well-rounded thing to be, a chink in an armor that is hiding how weak and lacking in self-esteem she is. I don't like the correlation. This is not the woman who kissed Raynes and then decked him (and I really wish that ep had been as much about Jo and her relationship with him as it was Stark's relationship with Callister, they made that such a throwaway B plot, when even on first viewing I had all these questions in the back of my head: why did they click? What did Jo find attractive in Callister? What did he find attractive in her? Was his being so new to the world and without preconceived notions able to accept Jo and all her facets without judgment, and did that in turn attract Jo?)
There are so few unfucked up (and therefore not-really-) strong fighting women that I never thought for a moment she'd be one. I'm just glad they haven't shown her burning a roast yet.
Doctor Who Night!
Oooh, Blink is on tonight, isn't it?
Yes ! It's Blink!
