Yeah. If I'm repeating myself, apologies, but getting to see Jo fleshed out with all her wonderful layers and feminine touches underneath her aggressive/butch front (but I don't believe it is, I think that's a part of her as well) is not a natural lead-in for the reveal of... of... this.
It just screams in my head that being strong and yet feminine is, rather than a wonderful and well-rounded thing to be, a chink in an armor that is hiding how weak and lacking in self-esteem she is. I don't like the correlation. This is not the woman who kissed Raynes and then decked him (and I really wish that ep had been as much about Jo and her relationship with him as it was Stark's relationship with Callister, they made that such a throwaway B plot, when even on first viewing I had all these questions in the back of my head: why did they click? What did Jo find attractive in Callister? What did he find attractive in her? Was his being so new to the world and without preconceived notions able to accept Jo and all her facets without judgment, and did that in turn attract Jo?)
