I'm just picturing Peter Wingfield. And it's awesome.
Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Doctor Who! I just love the actor playing Banes. I've been resisting Robin Hood, but I may have to watch since he's in it.
Also I love the way the boy describes the Doctor -- "like fire and ice and rage he's like the night and the storm at the heart of the son. He's ancient and forever he burns at the center of time and can see the turn of the universe...and..he's wonderful."
Also I love the way the boy describes the Doctor
Yeah, that was cool!
At first when I heard that description I was all ready to eyeroll at the very muchness of it all, but by the end of the ep I was more in the "Damn. Cold-assed bastard." camp myself.
That was great.
Harry Lloyd (Baines) is wasted in Robin Hood.
There's always been a element of ruthlessness in the Doctor, but with most incarnations it is buried fairly deeply (though varyingly.) One of the things I love about Ten this season is that he's so raw and wounded that it's just a millimeter under the skin, as a number of guest villains have found. He's wild and cold and fey, and I'm not sure I'd want it to go on forever, but it made for a hell of a ride during the season.
I thought Nine was dangerous too, but much less fey.
Have we seen this? Tennant and Stewart and Hamlet, oh, my. [link]
10 is very old testament/Greco-Roman in his punishments, isn't he? If he was afraid this is what he'd have to do, you'd think he might have left a suitable warning before he tried to disappear.
