Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Eureka: I think part of the distinction between male nudity and female nudity is that there is a defining line with male nudity between male body as vulnerable and male body as sexual; to wit, erection. Whereas with the female body, nudity is treated as always sexual.

Which is confusing and potentially demoralizing for a woman in that she is generally not permitted the other nonsexual uses of her naked body; maternity, hygiene, without the overt or subtle introduction of sexual implications in the way that a man is permitted.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Also, I went completely bugfuck over the scene where Allyson and Stark are asking questions of Kevin, and then immediately begin discussing him completely to his face. He's supposed to be autistic, right? Not deaf. Not stupid. Grrr.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's Allison, if that helps with the not-Buffistaness of her.

And if you're a good girl, that sexuality is vulnerable, not powerful.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

I have a feeling this may have been covered earlier. Sometimes I skim, because I have the attention span of a gnat.

The thing that's most been bugging me about PJ has been the mission of her team. If you change "neuro" to "mutant" it becomes even more obvious that her team is on the side of fear and ignorance of that which they don't understand and is effectively persecuting mutants, er, neuros. Good or bad doesn't matter--a mutie is a mutie.

Yeah, Jane has had misgivings about her role in this during a couple episodes, but she's been a team player for the most part. Waiting so long in the season for those concerns to surface didn't make much sense to me--22 eps guaranteed, I guess. Cancellation was the only thing that really made sense.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Was it ever explained how Zoe got put in the group of test subjects? Since, as a high school student, there's no reason for her to have a "pay grade" of any kind?

(Loved the ep, btw. Just nitpicking.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

At one point Zoe was working at the Old Age Home as part of her punishment, right? That may have made her 'staff' and the designation wasn't removed.

I am told that the breathable liquid isn't very comfortable, since it takes a lot of effort to push it in and out of your lungs, like super-instant-pneumonia, only you ARE getting enough oxygen. After a short time, you'll have that hurts-to-breathe feeling in your diaphragm like you do with a chronic cough.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Was it ever explained how Zoe got put in the group of test subjects?

I thought that Zoe was just a receiver, not a sender.

Thrive to spite them

Since, as a high school student, there's no reason for her to have a "pay grade" of any kind?

But it wasn't by paygrade though. Allison said it was a designation for those who have regular work schedules. And the doctor used them because they'd have regular sleep patterns.

Oh, that's right. Nevermind.
