"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Sadly, after the virtual therapy mishap last week I think Carter has lost much of the at-least-I-have-enough-common-sense-to-not-activate-something-I-don't-understand cred that might otherwise counterbalance some of the absent minded professors around him.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Did that ending between Finn and the Megan bump anyone else? Was that a really weird tone for him to hit?

The tone didn't bother me...it was the plot problems. (Though I can't remember seeing the actor who played Finn before, I thought he was really good.) Finn didn't have a project to work on! That was established over and over in the episode. So why does he have an intern? And wasn't there a problem with evacuating the town...and then people were filing into a bunker? I guess those were just GD people. And I believe standard IQ tests don't score over 155. And, and. A lot of watching with my logic eye closed, but I actually enjoyed all the jokes about 111.

yes, it was odd. He didn't do the "I was kidding" bit well, unless he meant to convey a "oops, went too far, need to cover and say I was kidding" creepy vibe.

I agree with Vortex, but I really kind of like the fact that some of the folks in Eureka are not 100% clear when interacting socially- reminds us that these folks are different. Less clear emotional cues would actually be an interesting dose of reality- even if it's not exactly what you want as an actor in a drama.

The Carter "idiot savant" thing has gotten to feel like it's too much. He's not even fresh off the turnip truck anymore, and has lots of experience with the crowd in Eureka. He's a competent sheriff with extensive U.S. Marshall experience, so he's not unexperienced. He certainly seems to know when to defer to the "technobable" squad, and he can manage good suggestions that are helpful to solving the problem.

Our wings are not tired.

I can believe Carter as a competent sheriff with great common sense solutions that the brainiacs can't see. US Marshalls ain't stupid. Being competent at his job doesn't mean he can't be a goofball idiot in his personal life. Hence screwing up with the kid or gym clothes selections.

Eureka isn't alone in making a point over and over again. I can nitpick and love at the same time. It's a superpower.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

A superpower shared by all true Star Wars fanatics.

I didn't realize, when I made my work password BadWolf, how Doctor Who season 2 was going to end. Now I get a little bluesy whenever I log in. I have one more disc coming. Please let it not be all special features!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Eureka: The other issue I'm starting to have is why GD can't ever clean up its own messes. Lots of the stuff that Carter gets hauled in for seems more internal than criminal. And I guess it's just a company town, huh? Nothing else ever happens outside of it?

I didn't altogether mind the Finn/Megan thing. With Megan's apparent default state of bitchiness, I don't think it was altogether unwarranted, and Finn certainly knows what an exceptional kid is capable of doing.

yeah, what's the deal with the GD Security force? Is Carter the head of it, because he certainly orders them around enough? or is it Alison who's given him that authority?
