Jayne: Anybody remember her comin' at me with a butcher's knife? Wash: Wacky fun.

'Objects In Space'

Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

But I really enjoy the tone set when there are extreme shadows and spots of light from on-set sources (Moose and Squirrel with their flashlights, emergency lighting for Out of Gas and Bushwhacked, most of the candle-lit scenes for The Dresden Files and the filtered daylit scenes).

Dresden Files has not seemed burdensome to view, so they must be doing something right. Also, it's possible that I'm getting to watch it on a superior machine, and without the grainy, staticky, out-in-the-desert reception.

What is even happening?

I love The Dresden Files. I've been really happy with TV in general, lately. I think it's the Celexa.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Just July.

That's enough of a time frame to put expectations. Thanks!

Dresden Files: That was a good kiss.

Excellent slap, too.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yep. Yep. Yep, it was.

damn I don't want this series to be over.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

If it is, definitely went out on a high note. That was a great episode.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I agree with TDF being a good one. And I loved Kirmani admitting that whatever it is Dresden does, cases get solved. (Which echoes with his book counterpart.) The kiss was great, too, followed by the slap (though book!Murphy would have socked him in the gut). I'm not a Harry/Murphy shipper for the books, but I wouldn't object to it happening on the show.

With 12 episodes of the show come and gone, I've got the two universes clearly separated in my head. I was happy to read White Night yesterday and not have any bleed over from the show into the book. The characters and their voices haven't changed to match their TV counterparts in my head.

As far as White Night goes, it had some great parts, but it felt a little disjointed. Plus, a lot of the ongoing mysteries/dilemnas got resolved and a little too neatly at that. In some ways it felt even a little fan-ficcish. Harry and Elayne "fight crime" side-by-side. Lasciel's shadow is redeemed and suddenly the coin is no longer a threat. Thomas actually finds a job where he can make oodles of money and feed without guilt. It was just way too tidy and happily ever-after.

Though it might just be the calm before the storm. Small Favor, considering who Harry owes favors to, could be pretty heavy. Though we have to wait a year to find out. Damn it.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Plei, you're going to tell Jilli about the Bobby sighting response, right?

Yes. Yes she did. Excuse me while I sigh in a mock put-upon manner, and then start muttering about John not casting a circle for protection. You know, my usual reactions.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Poor Bobby. Being the adult must be so hard.
