DW 3.10:

Oh, yeah - definitely one of the creepiest episodes, and also sweet, with the scene in the hospital as whathisname was dying .

I still can't get over that the statues were all actors in make-up. They were just amazing, as was the make-up/costuming .

Edited to whitefont. Sorry, guys! That was careless of me.

No, Laga - DW is Doctor Who. Which is often fantastic. (I can offer no comment on Deadwood, because I never watched.)

Sorry, Laga, I meant Doctor Who.

JenP, the statues were actors? Holy cow! That's awesome!

It was just... scary and nice, and--woops, I think we need to spoilerfont. This hasn't aired in the US yet.

I really liked Sally Sparrow, and how she brought herself to accept what happened and just dealt with it on its own terms. I wanted to like Lawrence more, but man, he was unattractive.

Still, I could totally see Sally being a companion some day. She was great.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Oh Duh- Deadwood would be in premium cable. I'm a big who-lover from the Tom Baker days. I'm currently waiting for disc one of season two (hello David Tennant!) to arrive from Netflix.

Oops. Thanks for the heads-up on the whitefont. I wasn't thinking.

DW 3.10: Yes, Sally would be a fantastic companion; really loved the character and the actor's performance.

Laga, I'm rewatching S1 through Netflix right now. Well, actually, I've got the discs and haven't been watching them yet. But they're here!

I first saw "the girl in the fireplace" episode with David Tennant. That prompted me to put them in my queue but I wasn't expecting Christopher Eccleston and I was kinda disappointed when he showed up. Then I ended up falling in love with CE so now DT's gonna have to win me back.

Is that the Shakespeare one?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Is that the Shakespeare one?

That was this season. Tennant's done two series so far. I believe Matt is referring to "School Reunion"?

Anyone watch the 4400 yesterday? There was theremin in the score for the movie-within-a-movie in the first scene. The player is on a theremin listserve and gave us a heads up about it.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Last night I sucked down seven episodes from season one of DW. They've been running them on PBS which is great because, hey presto, no commercials! I missed the first four, but I think I've pretty much figured out what the what is of those. I hope I can get through all of season two by the time season three starts playing on SciFi or wherever it plays when it gets here.

Honestly, I only started watching because of the enthusiasm in here, but I am a true convert. I owe you all toasters. I knew the show was going to be interesting, I had no idea how often it was going to make me cry. That, and it's an awful lot of pretty in one place. Can I have Captain Jack for Christmas?
