I also liked that they brought back a "devolved" villain from Doctor #2 (Patrick Troughton). The Macra.
Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I read that as "devoted" villain... which is kinda sweet, actually.
Another Doctor Who tie-in. The man of the couple with Rose also played Oliver on Footballers Wives Over [or Extra] Time.
FW fans will understand when I say that vacuum cleaner jokes flew around the house while that ep was on.
Hmm. Finally got around to watching the DW episode "Blink" (310).
HMOG, that was awesome.
t shudders
Is DW Deadwood? We tried to watch the first episode but the profanity was very distracting. Does it ever get better?
DW 3.10:
Oh, yeah - definitely one of the creepiest episodes, and also sweet, with the scene in the hospital as whathisname was dying .
I still can't get over that the statues were all actors in make-up. They were just amazing, as was the make-up/costuming .
Edited to whitefont. Sorry, guys! That was careless of me.
No, Laga - DW is Doctor Who. Which is often fantastic. (I can offer no comment on Deadwood, because I never watched.)
Sorry, Laga, I meant Doctor Who.
JenP, the statues were actors? Holy cow! That's awesome!
It was just... scary and nice, and--woops, I think we need to spoilerfont. This hasn't aired in the US yet.
I really liked Sally Sparrow, and how she brought herself to accept what happened and just dealt with it on its own terms. I wanted to like Lawrence more, but man, he was unattractive.
Still, I could totally see Sally being a companion some day. She was great.
Oh Duh- Deadwood would be in premium cable. I'm a big who-lover from the Tom Baker days. I'm currently waiting for disc one of season two (hello David Tennant!) to arrive from Netflix.
Oops. Thanks for the heads-up on the whitefont. I wasn't thinking.
DW 3.10: Yes, Sally would be a fantastic companion; really loved the character and the actor's performance.
Laga, I'm rewatching S1 through Netflix right now. Well, actually, I've got the discs and haven't been watching them yet. But they're here!
