Does anyone know for sure how Special Agent Hendrickson/Henricksen is spelled? I am trying to check it on the interwebs, and they all spell it differently.

I liked the team-y stuff about SG-1, but am disappointed that Sam could not come up with ways to save them with 50 years to think about it when I, who reach the limits of my technical facility by programming a VCR to record multiple programs, could think of at least 2 ways to do so.
(Seriously, (1) repair shields or build a secondary functional shield generator that would repulse the incoming fire long enough for them to flee, and/or (2) start firing the Odyssey's nifty new beam weapons repeatedly targeted all along the path of the incoming plasma bolt to disrupt it with a few hundred shots at the Ori ship tacked on at the end.)
I feel kind of sorry for Sam and Landry, having to live out decades by themselves while Daniel and Vala paired up. I'd feel similarly sorry for Teal'c and Cameron too, but I'm not 100% certain they had reason to be lonely.

I liked the finale well enough, though I'm always wanting Jack. Still, it had the proper continuing feel, so I'm good with it.
Matt, those ideas wouldn't work.
Not that I can tell you why, but it's their sandbox and their rules.
Oh, and this week's Dr Who? Felt placeholdery to me, but I enjoyed the hell out of Simms being batshit, and his creepy wench and damn if Doctor/Martha/Captain isn't mega hot--especially when they were standing at the airfield.

In terms of SG1 finale. Actually I see what they were doing -- the same damn thing the Angel series ending did. The ending is that the fight continues, cause traveling and fighting the bad guys a piece at a time is what they do. If they defeat one form of evil, there will be another, and the defeat of various evils is never as complete as you expect. But the same applies to setbacks for the forces of good.
So the show feinted at the complete success, complete failure and end with the adventure continuing. The situation is not as dire as the Angel ending, because SG1 is powers of ten less dark as a show. And to tell the truth I think the ending handled it as well. Fifty years of boredom did not actually make for the most fascinating of shows even interrupted by the hot Claudia Black/Daniel romance. And the point at the end -- no great cleverness on my part of spot it, cause all that was needed was to dodge the falling anvils.

I liked the SG-1 finale well enough. I think I liked the S8 finale better, as series finales go. Still...
Juliebird - yeah, I remember thinking how just mean Daniel was being. I think I'da made him wait a good long while after that little display.
I also remember wondering what Vala was crying about in the montage. I found that kind of random. Ah, well. Show, I loved you. Thanks for the memories. And, yay, for upcoming TV movies!

I figured she was crying about being stuck there. As would I...when I wasn't pulling a Cam and trashing shit.
I would probably be Camlike, in total. Exercising, fighting, having pointless arguments, and breaking shit.
I thought it was a sweet episode. Sweet's not why I tune in to SG1, but it was a fitting way to end it for me.
