Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Oh and the TWOP SPN fans are very happy because SPN beat Smallville in the ratings last night. I believe it's the first time that has happened.
I don't understand this Sentinel thing. I'd never heard of the show until I discovered it apparently has one of the largest Internet fandoms.

Jim and Blair are LOVE.
What's not to understand?
Also, Simon is WAY COOL, and there needs to be more Simon fic.
Err.
I dunno, I started watching it when it was reairing after B5 on Sci-Fi, and while it was utterly unlike the fic I'd at the time read (which was all bad fic, like the one where they're slaves of giant cats that Em linked to once), discovered it to be an enjoyable ho-yay filled entry in the Buddy Cop Genre, with just enough fantasy aspects that I could build a hammock in which to suspend my disbelief.
I always liked all the TS AU stories.
So did you guys watch the SG1 finale?
I kind of did.
It was okay.
The Vala/Daniel kiss was nice.
I was never in the Asgard anyway.
I watched somewhat. We were having storms that disrupted the signal. I have a deep SG-1 love. Hope to catch it on the replay. Some day I will shut out the world and marathon the whole damn series. I could probably do it in a month.
It worked better for me the second time.
But I guess I just don't have the same emotional attachment to the show.
Dark Angel season one was pretty great, with super-high production values, an interesting and cohesive storyline, and a very nice-looking cast. It also introduced characters that were people of colour and gay characters without so much as a blip, which was nice at the time because a) it was on Fox and b) it was a future vision of the world that was dealt with realistically, with all the smudges and ragged edges.
DA was a show that had a lot of potential , potential that was entirely squandered in the second season for the reasons Plei describes. If you enter in watching for the Ackles, I expect you'll be disappointed by the rest of the show, particularly the second season, because it was rubbish even for dedicated fans like I was BITD.
That said, Ackles gave good performance, and a comparison of his role in season one and his role in season two gives a premature glimpse into the depth we get from him in Supernatural. But there's a lot more to the show than Jensen, a *lot* more, and I kind of think it's a shame that people are only watching it for Jensen and not on it's own. But whatever, right? At least people are watching.
The Sentinel remains one of my most pleasant *fandoms* of all time, even though the show was three trillion times more rubbish than even the lowliest fanfiction. Who knows why fandom latched on to the mediocre show with terrible production values, thin plots, and clunky writing--but it did, like a precious stone, and thus a fandom of brilliant writing--and writers--was born. Some of the best writers, the so-called BNFs of fandom, got their start in Sentinel, and bless them for it. Sentinel is kind of a window back into earlier days of slash fandom, between the Kirk/Spock genesis and before XF really took hold, I think.
Also, Jim&Blair4EVAH!~~!oMg.
There is going to be a BSG season 4 promo/preview during the Eureka premiere on July 10th!
This is apparently, something that ran advertising that. (It ran on June 22nd.)
I'm still waiting for it to download and of course, I have no sound so watch at your own peril.
