I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, and I loved hearing the Torchwood theme music worked into the score as the Doctor stood over Jack that first time.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Weirdly enough, when I first saw Jacobi in his getup, and even more with the addition of Chan To, I thought--cool! Time Lord! For a couple seconds, and then moved on. I got to the realisation of the full truth at just about the speed the plot intended.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Doctor Who 3x11: Eeeeeee! That was wicked cool, especially the second half of the episode. It felt a bit slow and off-kilter in the first half, and Jack and the Doctor were so stiff and strange with each other -- but of course, then everything fell into place after their little chat. I loved the reveal that Jack missed his mark by a century and change and had to live through all of it to get back to where he was supposed to be.

So how the hell are the Doctor, Martha, and Jack going to get back to the 21st century? And will the answer involve Utopia in some way? Surely we have to find out what that is in the next episode -- something tells me it's not quite all it's cracked up to be.

Mostly, though, I'm just all *wavy hands* over the Master. JOHN EFFING SIMM! So cool! Yay! He should be evil on my TV all the time.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Kate, I have a feeling that Jack's wristband is going to get sonic screwdrivered next episode. And I also have a feeling that the Doctor is going to have to endure a fair amount of needling from Jack about how his crappy little time hopper saved their asses.

Hah, Anne, I completely forgot all about Jack's space-hopper thingy, but of course you're right.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Doctor Who 3x11:

Also, what did Martha mean

ita, I think she has heard Harold Saxon speak. In the previews, he's taken on the persona of Harold Saxon in the 21st century. I wonder if he's running against Harriet Jones?

Fiona, was there spoilage for....

Yes, ita, as others have mentioned, there was spoilage for that specific person in that specific part, but AFAIK nobody called Jacobi for it too. Very cool.

So how the hell are
the Doctor, Martha, and Jack going to get back to the 21st century?

My theory involves the Master's TARDIS. Which must be around somewhere - maybe that console with the wonky connection (which was played up to be really big but then didn't really come to anything). He has to have one, because how else could he have done the chameleon arch ?

Also, I realised last night that I no longer felt cheated by not seeing John Smith transform into the Doctor, because we saw it happen to the Master.

I am VERY EXCITED.

Me too!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Sumi, I'm glad those were collected somewhere. There used to be a site that had the actual journal, front cover open so you could see John's medals clipped to the pocket, and a stack of folded news clippings and notes shoved into the pocket.

The official SPN site still has an interactive thing up where you find the journal in the back floorboard of the Impala. Click on it and you can turn each page, and read those entries in "John's handwriting", along with a few clippings and drawings pertaining to S1 episodes. This site doesn't, but the other one had the back cover pocket, with photos of John, Mary, and the boys, and John with his Marine unit.
