So, now it's Jose Chung's Final Repose

Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Not even at his "I've lost me Lucky Charms" accent, Lee?
Okay, maybe then.
Bad accents don't bother me as much as other kinds of bad acting though.
Fiona, I agree with you. In fact, it's staying with me more than Satan's Pit, and I think it's about the change in the possessed/whatever characters, the Doctor's haplessness, and the sheer weirdness of seeing him like a normal woman.
any more Who-watchers out there?
Episode 3.8 and the upcoming 3.9 are actually based on a Dr. Who novel. Russell T Davies liked it so much he got the author to adapt the book for the current doctor.
I just parsed the end of ita's comments above in a very odd way. I took the word "like" to mean "acting like", and was briefly very confused.
I enjoyed the episode, but was put off by the acting of the possessed schoolboy. It felt too forced. I did love the younger boy with the watch. Is he the one in Love Actually?
From an interview with Samantha Ferris (v. slight spoiler re: casting for the 4400):
If you could have any scene you wanted as Ellen, what would it be?
I would like to get it on with John Winchester. There. I said it.
Just watched Doctor Who 3.08 and loved it. So creepy! I love when this show does creepy. The scarecrows freaked me out but good. So what is the deal with the kid who can see the future? The flash of him in the future, when Martha runs into him, looked familiar -- have we seen that scene already in a past episode?
Jon, yes, the younger kid who stole the watch is the one from Love Actually. What didn't you like about the possessed schoolboy? I thought he was very good.
I really loved the time period & the setting for this episode, with the shadow of WWI hanging over everything they do.
Kate, Who 3x8 comments the little boy is getting the Doctor's memories and such by opening up the watch. that scene of him running into Martha was one from the premiere, i believe.
the scarecrows freaked me the hell out and that's something this show hasn't done for me lately.
Kate, his acting just didn't sell it to me. I can't be any more specific than that. Everyone else seems to have liked him, so I'll just sit alone in my bad-acting corner.
Uncharacteristically for me, I have trouble suspending disbelief for Dean slash despite the character's hotness. I think it's because he's told someone he doesn't swing that way in canon, and my read of the charcter is that he's totally the type of guy who would think nothing of exclaiming "Dude! I bagged a Seattle Seahawks linebacker last night!" if he were into that sort of thing.
This just makes me want to see pre-series where he's testing his own sexuality and Sam's busy looking for a rock to crawl under, because it was bad enough when Dean was only looking to score with girls.
I understand, however, that I'm overly-influenced by many WTF conversations with (straight) male friends about that topic.
