'Day' is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles. It's not applicable. I didn't get you anything.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Uncharacteristically for me, I have trouble suspending disbelief for Dean slash despite the character's hotness. I think it's because he's told someone he doesn't swing that way in canon, and my read of the charcter is that he's totally the type of guy who would think nothing of exclaiming "Dude! I bagged a Seattle Seahawks linebacker last night!" if he were into that sort of thing.

This just makes me want to see pre-series where he's testing his own sexuality and Sam's busy looking for a rock to crawl under, because it was bad enough when Dean was only looking to score with girls.

I understand, however, that I'm overly-influenced by many WTF conversations with (straight) male friends about that topic.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Actually, I meant DB from S1 Buffy compared to the last third of S2. I was gobsmacked by him in IOHEfY, and on rewatch realized just how much more powerful his acting had become by Passions. The Angelus arc certainly freed him to stretch and reach, while still keeping a core of Angel in there somewhere.

I had the same sort of realization about JP in HotH, and on rewatch, noted his improvement almost from IMtoD. Part of it is the actors' maturation, and the letting go of behaviors and processes that worked for them as younger actors, especially as they find truer ways to portray emotion and character.

Okay, I'll stop now. But this is my meat.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

tiggy, oh! That makes sense, of course. I knew we'd seen something like that but couldn't place it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I just parsed the end of ita's comments above in a very odd way. I took the word "like" to mean "acting like", and was briefly very confused.

The same thing happened to me!

Kate, his acting just didn't sell it to me. I can't be any more specific than that. Everyone else seems to have liked him, so I'll just sit alone in my bad-acting corner.

I'll join you in that corner, Jon. I thought he was sort of eye-rolly over-the-top, with that constant bug-eyed look.

The scarecrows were pretty freaky, indeed.

I don't think anyone's mentioned that the Doctor's new squeeze is Jessica Stevenson/Hynes from Spaced! Whee! I just barely recognized her after a while, and it wasn't immediate because the role is so different. I didn't expect to see her on the show.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

PC, when was the possessed schoolboy bug-eyed? I don't recall that at all.

The misreading of my previous post made me laugh, since I hesitated over word choice there--though the misread never occurred to me--I just refused to use love even though Martha did. I'm perhaps overly sentimental or something. Though it was all very believably done.

ita, I'm probably using the wrong word. But his constant intense, never-blinking stare and curled smirk were just like, "No one notices this guy has been INHABITED BY EVIL or something?" Keep it on the down-low, you know?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Ooh! I just saw an ad for Torchwood on BBCA! It's starting in September!!!!

Excellent. Who's airing this latest season of Dr. Who in the US? And when?

Also, does BBCA edit for content, or just commercial time?

Art Crawl!!!

Scifi will air season 3 starting in July.

I don't know that BBCA edits for more than time. Afterall they air Footballer's Wives which was designed to be smutty. I don't think that Torchwood is MORE smutty than FW.
