Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
SG1 kinda gave me chills there at the end, even before he launched into the "Let us go or else" speech. There was something weirdly alien in that moment, where I felt more like the natives and less like the crazy kids from Tauri. They needed to go home in such a grim way that...I don't know how to articulate it.
It was very "We can be your worst nightmare, or we can disappear into that strange thing over there. Choose."
I liked it, and wasn't expecting it after the tone of the rest of the ep, which was delightful.

New Who ! "42" was really, really similar to "The Impossible Planet" but not nearly as creepy and awesome for some reason. The crew wasn't as distinct and interesting. I liked it, though. It was pretty freaky to see the Doctor so terrified.
And Mrs. Jones is in league with Saxon! This can't end well.

I really enjoyed that ep - exciting plus some good character stuff. OK, and I particularly enjoyed Riley Vashti -- cutie pie. I IMDB'd him, because he looked familiar, but I don't know what else I'd have seen him in. Anway, William Ash, I have my eye on you...
Yeah, very interested to see where all this intrigue with Mrs. Jones goes. Dun dun DUN .

I haven't enjoyed an SG-1 that much in ages!
SGA kind of lost momentum towards the end, but it was still fun. I think I'm just so used to SGA being the palate-cleanser that gets the Ori taste of out my mouth that a mediocre SGA following a really enjoyable SG-1 is a novelty.

I just can't avoid thinking everyone in Atlantis is really very stupid. Even the good episodes only induce temporary amnesia. I kinda end up falling asleep 3/4 of the way in, unless it's really annoying.

Who 3.7.: I have to agree with you, PC, the atmosphere was very Impossible Planety, right down to using the same space suits (I guess they have to save money somewhere....) But I justified it in my head by putting them around the same time period. It was a pretty effective ep. "Classical music" - har har.
I don't think that Mrs. Jones is wittingly in league with Saxon; I think she's very suspicious of the Doctor and worried for Martha, and thinks that Saxon is helping her. It will be interesting to see where they go with this .
Next week looks interesting. Bring it on!

ohmygodohmygodohmygod. I'm cathcing up on a couple of missed SPN eps, and I'm watching Folsom Prison Blues, and the scary eyes that suddenly appeared in front of Lucas's little window when he's in solitary with Dean just made me jump back from the screen and yelp like a frightened child. Yikes.
Also? Too bad they don't do solitary on SPN the way they did it on Oz. Just sayin'.
