I just read that Jeffrey Dean Morgan wasn't able to fly to Vancouver, so all his scenes were shot on a greenscreen. I never would have guessed he wasn't actually there. Didn't he even hug Dean? Maybe they flew Jensen down.

he put his hand on his shoulder. that whole scene, when all the Winchesters were standing together, looked greenscreened to me and it kind of took me out of the moment.

The background was definitely hinky for me, so much that I too was distracted from the emotional impact of the moment. But, you know, Jensen Ackles distracted me from that approximately a nanosecond later.
