'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sam could be only mostly-dead, which as we know, can be fixed.

Or his demonic gifts come with one resurrection free, as a gift-with-purchase.

I think the Topper approach would be great, with Ghost!Sam tagging along on all of Dean's hunts and the two bitching at each other like nothing had happened.

Thrive to spite them

Ava could have been locked in by the demon, or there could have been a hole in the back of the building somewhere so she just locked the door and crawled in the back. (since we never saw the rest of the building).

I think I've read this fic. (It wasn't half bad!)

Do we know that the demon has resurrection powers that we can bargain for?

Well, the demon was able to rescind Dean's death sentence by inhabiting the reaper that had come for him. If Sam's really-most-sincerely dead, I don't know if that option would be available. But, you know, demon, and not your typical one at that, so kinda open-ended on what his capabilities might be.

And do we think there's no chance that Sam is really dead, dead?

I think a big part of the show is the chemistry between the two brothers. If they intend to continue the show, I don't know that I want to watch Dean work alone, or with a new partner. I think that would actually be too painful for me. (Because frankly, I think if Dean makes it through this battle alive, he'll be dead man walking for a long time. Show called Supernatural, not Dean is Angsty.)

Dean'll have to be really careful with the rock salt.

Sam: [disappears in a puff after an errant shot]
Dean: "Aw, damnit!"
Sam: [rematerializes] "Dude, watch it!"

eta: when will I learn to use line breaks? never...

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Newest Dr. Who:

That preview was made of EEEEEE! I did a little Captain Jack dance. And then John Simm! I've never seen him in anything besides LoM, so I'm very excited, as I expect him to be AWESOME. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw Derek Jacobi in there.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

As to the wedding ring question, John was still wearing it in Season two.

Also, Sterling K. Brown (Gordon Walker) plays the civilian husband of an army woman in Lifetime's Army Wives in June. Gave me a little frisson, it did, seeing him in daylight and holding a baby in a rocking chair, before I recognised the actor.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dana, you panicked me. I was sure (and still am, now) that this weekend was a weekend off.

All clear. Please abandon panic stations.
