Natter Area 51: The Truthiness Is in Here
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
The only time I can recall taking a picture inside a bathroom was at The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo.
There was some restaurant in NYC that we went to last year that had an entirely black bathroom, including black toilet paper. Can't remember where that was, but it was freaky. Someone told me about a club where the stall doors are made of glass that fogs up when the door is closed and clears when it's opened. I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel there.
Nothing I hate more than people who leave their pee all over the bathroom.
Oh completely. But I wanted to say to her, "You're profoundly yucky. And I can't believe you almost peed on my foot even though I was in another stall. Perhaps you don't have the quads to perch above the seat, but, lady, you don't even have the aim."
The bathroom where I am staying in Dallas has an ordinary bathroom to look at. Then I took a shower. I never want to leave. Never have I had so much water pressure in a shower either in a hotel or home. Heaven.
I don't know, that shower at the place in Atlanta was pretty hardcore.
Also,
Burke wasn't going to be Chief, so his whole career path has just been called into question in his mind, putting all the burden of his happiness on his relationship with Christina - if he takes that out of the question, he can just leave and, barring him wanting to be with Christina, that's what he really wanted to do. Couple that with the possibility that she seems to be leaving him at the altar and I can see why he'd feel pushed to leave.
My brother has taken pictures of the swank bathrooms in his hotel rooms and sent them to me. Cancer conferences often score fancypants hotels.
I'm about to turn Mister Kitty into slippers. He occasionally recalls he likes to jump up on the end bookcase and knock things off a nearby shelf. And he's so.fucking.persistant. I pull him off, try to distract him. As soon as I'm settled, he's back up there and I have to lunge to rescue my knickknacks. AHRG. He'll eventually forget again, but AHRG.
And, there is the other
hiring/firing aspect of whether or not Isiah Washington's contract was going to be renewed. I do love the character of Burke even I think IW is an ass. But the reality is, if he were on his way out, this is a lovely and heartbreaking way to achieve that for the character and for Cristina.
Mr. Kitty,
Get off the bookshelf please and be good to sara. Or else.
Love,
Kat
Kat, I am in total agreement with you on the meta. Love Burke, regardless of the actor's shortcomings, and this was kind of an elegant move by the writers, really. I'm impressed that
they didn't telegraph his leaving at all in previous episodes, yet I completely believe that he is gone and not coming back.
Back in the day I saw an interview with Isaiah Washington, and he was kinda goofy and un-Burkish. Okay, a lot. So I made the clean separation between the man and the character before the whole anti-homosexual and strange behaviour started. Which made it easy to love Burke (or at least be drawn to him, despite his flaws) while thinking the actor an asshat. I can see how his asshattedness may affect his current and future employ, but I want as much Burke as possible.
