If every vampire who said he was at the crucifixion was actually there, it would have been like Woodstock.

Apparently, Laura Bush is staying at the Hay Adams Hotel in DC, and only goes to the White House for occasions and photo ops. It's a pretty open secret in the capitol, but you know that if Hillary had done the same during the height of Monica-madness, the press would have been all over it, instead of just the tabloids and E! news, who are the only ones covering Laura.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Laura Bush doesn't live at the White House with her husband? How come I didn't know that?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Really??

Yay for home, Robin!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Thanks, cowgirl!

I am not sure I believe the Bush news. Sounds like wishful thinking to me. Wouldn't she just move into a another bedroom in the White House?

Thrive to spite them

According to the tabloid headlines Laura is either planning to file for divorce or secretly has filed for divorce over Bush's out of control drinking.

I had heard that, but dismissed it as tabloid hysteria. Huh.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

they just showed a clip of the state senate president saying "effing." For reals. He was apparently trying to be delicate in quoting the governor's "I'm a fucking steamroller."

Elliot Spitzer used the effword?? Okay, I believe that more than I believe Patacki using it.

New York always has the most entertaining politicians. See also: aforementioned Giuliani. (I grew up on Ed Koch, who just gets funnier the older he gets.)

Not in public, but it's been widely repeated.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

crosses fingers, hopes for total Bush meltdown....

Of course, his finger is still on the button, so maybe not....

I saw the Laura Bush story mentioned in passing at Daily Kos, but the tone they used was that it's been around for a while.

ION, it looks like I'll be able to get out of town next weekend for cheap! My dad's going to see his brother and SIL in Athens, OH for the weekend, and since my company's giving our department a four day weekend, I'll be able to go along. It'll be the only chance I have to get out of town between last Christmas and my sister's wedding in October. Now to clean up the apartment this weekend and contact my pet-sitters to come in and feed Amarna.
