She's been hurt, you guys! That's why she's so mean!
Natter Area 51: The Truthiness Is in Here
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I'm not sure if she's actually that sneaky or just oblivious; I'm tending towards the latter, with a large helping of malice.
Totally this, Todd. My favorite right now is "Wholahay." Heh.
Steph, if it's getting worse instead of better, it's time to alert the doctor, and if he doesn't try something else (I'm thinking heavy-duty antibiotics and a prescription gargle) it's time to say 'screw him' and see an ER doctor. Sore throats like this are infections and that can actually be very dangerous for the rest of your body!
I re-read what I posted at Ass O'Clock, and I see I didn't mention that the doctor also prescribed Zithromax. Which I am dutifully taking. So I ought to start feeling a lot better in a day or two.
As for the throat, it's actually feeling incrementally better -- it still hurts when I swallow, but not enough to make me wince and then swear.
Back to bed.
Hot tea (herbal if you want to sleep) with lemon and honey - it's really nice and it does help.
Sleep well and feel better soon.
Well, we love you both, want you both to be happy, and will stay out of it.
Seconding this.
Back to bed.
To rest with you! And it was a great conversation! The SO really liked you.
Teppy, are you taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen? They usually help sore throat pain for me, at least somewhat.
I'm a big fan of Sudafed Shower Soothers, but they're more more nose than throat.
Well, we love you both, want you both to be happy, and will stay out of it.
Thirding, or whatever the number is up to now.
Thanks for the answers y'all. I fall mostly with Liese. Mr. Jane has met a few buffistas in person, and he gets along with them well, but I really would rather he not frequent here.
IRL I'm a kinda pick-your-battles sort of girl, so a lot of stuff that bugs me, I just let go of. But, I need somewhere to vent that. It's hard for me to vent it to people who know Mr. Jane, because, in truth, he is one of the nicest, friendliest just all around good guys you'd ever want to know. So I get a lot of, "But he's so great!" and "You are so lucky!" which is true, but I'm not feelin' that after he's forgotten to, say mail in our taxes. Even my mom will say, "I sure hope you're being nice to him."
Kat, I wish you and lori the best.
Everyone in my office is sick except for me. I'm going to be the one survivor who has to fight off hordes of snot monsters and flegm spewing demons to emerge from the building covered in goo, but triumphant.
Then I'll say something pithy, and the music will swell and the credits will roll.
The kiddoes are sick, too. I have to grin at them and offer hairpats, when really the appropriate response might be Lysol. I keep trying to remember which sick ones used which instruments so I can clean them, but I never do remember.
And speaking of venting, how irritated am I that I was up four hours before I had to be because the bus was *early*? Very irritated, that's how.
