I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm guessing that black MJs with the brocade one would look fine?

Actually, when I ran this question past him, he recanted on MJs (regardless of color) with the brocade dress, b/c he said it's a bit too elegant of a dress to go with a shoe as casual as a Mary Jane.

He's straight; just very, very metrosexual.

It does! Other people were totally just saying stuff to get out of being on a jury. Now I have to spend the rest of the week on a case of aggravated sexual assault. Isn't that cheery? And you can't even take notes!

Hmmm.... do they at least pay you? or does your job? Can you view this as a little break from reality?

I'm actually not working at the moment, so I guess the timing is sort of good on that. Unless my boss e-mails me with new work. And they do pay you.

The whole process was just weird. And the defendant doesn't even speak English. Guilty or innocent, it must be hella scary going through a justice system when you don't speak the language, even with a translator.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I was doing a training session with the 3 new summer associates, and pointed out the WSJ link, and one of them said "hey, Falwell died" and then two of us kind of maybe grinned and were glad a little, and I am a bad bad person, but at least I wasn't alone.

Apparently I am untroubled about being a bad person, because the news makes me wonder how quickly graveyard sod solidifies enough for proper dancing.

Matt, if you bring a piece of plywood, you can dance on his grave right away.
