Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

Man, I wish I were in Vegas. My sister lives there now, and I still haven't met her fiance yet. Also, the woman who was my best friend in high school is there, and I lost contact with her about 10-12 years ago but really want to talk to her again. I only have her brother's work addy (he's a real estate agent), but I was thinking about sending him an e-mail and seeing if he could forward my contact info to his sister and leave it up to her to see if she wants to talk to me or no.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Tommy, was your suggestion wishful thinking, or advice?

Either.

I mean, I can picture someone wearing stilettos and a mod dress, but I'm not completely confident it'd work....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've never properly been to Vegas. If I take a short break (no time off coming soon), it's either there or Ojai. So far. Haven't thought much.

I *love* those Paco Rabanne shoes. They take my strappish ballet flat fixation to a new place.

Know what's been stupidly hard to find (I should perhaps be in the kids section, I've been told)? Lacy ankle socks. Even Sock Dreams where I was getting a bunch of other (stocking) stuff didn't have them in stock in white. How rude! Now I need to shop in another location.

Lunch did not make me feel any better. Currently the signals being transmitted to my brain from various parts of my body are failing error checking. Irritation.

Lee! Which Vornado do you have? How much room does it service?

Errr. A black one.

I'll get you the specs tonight, when I have them.

I love it though.

Vegas in September, maybe?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Steph, here are the dresses: [link] and [link].

chatty!mod!co-worker says that white Mary Janes would work with both dresses, and that the first dress (pale green brocade) would also look good with a black chisel-toe shoe: [link] (but it doesn't have to be high-heel if you prefer a flat, he said).

I'll be in Vegas the last few days of September/first few of October for my sister's wedding, so if anyone is there at the same time, I might be free to meet for a meal!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm psyched that I now have this Vegas tradition with a bunch of girl friends, because the house that we stay in is half of what I'm looking forward to. I just want to lie around in the pool!

Oh, do ya' suppose someone might want an antique Singer sewing machine? (I can post pictures) For, say, the cost of shipping, plus... well, my parents had it priced at $15 but it didn't sell. I'm sure they would come down on the price, as moving day is getting close.

Steph, your coworker is weird. Not necessarily in a bad way, just that, like Jesse, I was surprised.

I've never worn chisel toe. I don't know if they're a good shape for my feet. Mary Janes, on the other hand, I'm all over. I'm guessing that black MJs with the brocade one would look fine?

Of course, if I get white MJs, then I'm going to have to (life is hard) buy white earrings. And maybe a bracelet or two.
