I have no idea what I'm doing at this new job, and I'm tired of being confused all the time.
I was just thinking about how I was like that for at least the first three months of my job that I've had for 7 years now. It was scary! But I gradually figured things out. (I'm looking at new jobs now and going back to that state is pretty scary. But I think the change is necessary.)
Mistah Falwell, he dead
I'm of the "don't speak ill of the recently dead" school.

So, how's the weather?
I'm of the "don't speak ill of the recently dead" school.
I wonder how long we have to wait.
So, how's the weather?
It's pretty hot in Hell....
Since we're being so civilized about Mr. Falwell's death, I'll just note that I expect that the full shame of his hateful life will be visited on him when he is in the benificence of God's presence.
Today is purple day. If you are not wearing purple currently, please address this omission immediately. If you are wearing purple, but not a purple top and a black bottom, you are acceptable, but just not cool.
Signed,
Just Left A Cubicle With Two Other Women In Purple Tops And Black Skirts.
Allyson, is it possible you can just make it up?
I have just been apprised of the fact that there are definite things that are My Job, but I'm not sure what the formula that defines it is. Instead, I'm just doing what's asked of me, and I hope it works out.
::returns to the stone age::
I am not wearing purple of any kind. I am a maverick.
I am wearing a white top I bought recently. Hubby frowned at it, and I said, "I am too old enough to wear a white top without spilling on it!" Hubby muttered, "No, you're not."
And the first day I wore it, I dropped a piece of warm chocolate on it. I was being so careful!
God, I was pissed, and I hated that he was going to see it. Fortunately it came out, but still . . .
Since we're being so civilized about Mr. Falwell's death
Well, I compared him to Kurtz via a Heart of Darkness reference. But that was far too kind.
I am wearing a pink polo shirt and a denim skirt.
Good lord. Denim skirt. I've been MidWesternized already.
At least I have my Chucks on.
