I'm making chili for tonight, which seemed like a good idea last week when it was freezing. But today it seems like I should bundle it up and send it eastward to the people who are cold!
I'm proud of myself for actually making the preplanned early meal. We're teaching at the Kennel (youth center) on the reservation tonight, which happens just during mealtimes. And then afterwards we meet with our builder (meep!) for the first time. So we won't get back up the hill until after 9:00. So it'll really help to have the meal ready, but I tend to forget it's something I need to do until late.
It's snowing here. Big fat flakes, too. I writhe in shock and dismay....
New Englandistas, was this the screwiest winter+ evah (+ since it's not supposed to be winter anymore -
gives the weather gods the stinkeye
) in your experience? 60s and sunny in January? Snowpocalypse in March?
I mean, I remember the April Fool's storm back in the day, but this is somehow more absurd.
Yes, yes we did. Promise me we'll never go back to Amnesia.
Amnesia? Never heard of the place.
It's up there, Frank. I remember feeling all out of sorts when it just failed to get cold in the late fall and early winter.
The most bizarre weather I ever saw though, was when it snowed in May. I think that was in '77, but I'm not positive.
Yes, yes we did. Promise me we'll never go back to Amnesia.

Clearly I need a more complete update on the events of the evening than I've gotten so far.
Had lunch with the meara.
Sweet.
Was it here that I was fussing about making an unpleasant phone call? I just made it, and everything was totally fine. Better than fine. And I may get $20,000 worth of work done for free because of it.
Damn my phone fear. It's so not worth it.
Go you, Liese!

I feel like I've been doing that for months! I take some soup or something out of the freezer, and it's hot outside before the soup is thawed! I just bought all this salad stuff, and now it's freezing and I want chili!
Tonight I'm going to Nordstrom to shop for a dress, and then I'm going home to watch
Friday Night Lights,
and then mainline more episodes of
Nobuta wo produce.
I may just dine on squee.
Woman cannot live on squee alone. (I'm hungry. The food in my house is boring. Work is boring. I am bored. And hungry.)
