And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I had to go to work this morning before they were finished, but I told DH to stand in the doorway with a crowbar and to beat them to death with it if they tried to leave before the job was done.

Fortunately for everyone involved, bloodshed was not necessary.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay, Jess!

Watering once a week for 4 hours.

Ouch. I thought three days a week from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. was bad enough, although if this keeps up we'll be at the next drought-level watering ban soon. Also, right now it looks like south Georgia will be burning for months. Rain, damn it.

Yay for the end of the saga of Jess and the dryer.

YAY for working washer and dryer, though boo for how long it took.

Jesse, sorry about the woe.

I was tempted to go to Catalina next week. oops. Guess we aren't going after all.

I'm decidely mellowish right now. But sleepy. I think I need a nap.

AND someone picked my stuff up off the printer, but no one will confess!

I swear to god. I should just go home already.

Yes, Jesse, you should go home. Everyone should take the day off. I approve wholeheartedly of such a scheme.

I'm gronky this AM. I've been in crocs for a couple of days straight and wandering around beaches and promenades and gardens and I have given myself a blister.

God, I'm so glad.

I vote for Kat for leader!

I am very glad Jessica didn't have to kill anyone to have clean and dry clothes.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Jesse, why is your toe bleeding?

Paul Weller was the lead singer of The Jam and the Style Council and has had a long solo career as well. Total English mod icon.

So here's my good news. I sent my introduction to the book to my editor. (Being as how it's a small book and a long introduction, it comprises about 1/20th of the entire thing.)

He replied:

I love it! Consider my appetite well and truly whetted.

And I'm happy with the introduction too and was feeling all saucy about it. And then I went back and looked at the rest of what I'd written which has not yet received as much massaging and revising and...it's nowhere near as good as the intro. Ugh. I can make it better, but it's very deflating. I started to feel Almost Doneish, but instead I have much work yet.
