If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Cripes, I should not be watching the news this morning.

Five high school students shot on a CTA bus last night - one is dead. His dad was a police officer and his mom a firefighter. I don't know why that makes it seem so much worse.

Also, it appears the motherfucking dog fighters are active again. My neighborhood used to have a horrible problem with people stealing dogs from yards or tied up outside shops and stuff - using them as fodder, basically, for training pitts to kill. The police really cracked down, and it's been quiet the last year or so. But apparently it's on again. Fuckers, fuckers, fuckers. It's just sickening.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I wonder if I warned my neighbors about dognappers, they'd at the least not let their dogs bark in the yard unattended....

I'm not so cruel as to wish them dognapped, but I've gone so far as to speculate how easy it would be to mix up some Valium-laced dog treats.

Our wings are not tired.

Poor doggies. My Brandy is still visiting with her grandparents. I still have the cat and rabbit at home, but they don't greet me with the same level of joy when I come home from work.

Don't watch local news, but I do check the newspapers on line. This clip of a sea turtle this morning was cool. [link]

Art Crawl!!!

I did not know that Paul Weller is a designer.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't know who Paul Weller is!

Today I am super whiny. My commute was a clusterfuck, my toe is bleeding, my head is full of cotton and I can't think, files are the bane of my existence, AND my boss isn't working from home today like she's supposed to!

Woe.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Mnnf. Meant to mention that CATALINA is on fire, and they were evacuating the island.

Yikes.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I cannot get at the Looptopia site to see if I want to stay downtown after work, or if I'd rather go home and take a nap.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Dear California,

STOP CATCHING ON FIRE. Seriously, just quit it.

Love,

Jess

ION, my washer and dryer ARE INSTALLED!!!! The guys showed up on time and didn't forget any parts or anything, and it all works!! Obviously they couldn't wait around while DH ran a full load of laundry (and this model has so many buttons and settings that it will probably take some sitting down with the manual before we can figure out how to do it anyway), but everything turns on and off, and the dryer heats up and lalalalalalala IT'S DONE! Wheeeee!!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

OMG, I am so happy that finally worked out, Jessica.

Yeah, I heard that first thing when I woke up. It's depressing. All those pretty houses and ridgelines and mmrph. And it is so tighly packed. Mrph.

I hated last week's GA so much I only watched 45 minutes. This week, it was back. Well, in its extremely dysfunctional way.
