I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I dunno, Jessica. It tastes great to me. It doesn't taste or feel any different than regular milk to me, other than it doesn't make me sick.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You know, I'm almost tempted to check out the vegan boards to check out their take on the... bad thing that happened....

Damn. The Vegan baby folks got sentenced to life in prison.

I mean, they were extremely stupid, but....

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Although the life sentences were automatic, Sanders and Thomas begged for leniency before sentencing. Sanders urged the judge to look past his "perception" of the couple.

"I loved my son _ and I did not starve him," she said.

When the judge told the defendants they could ask for a new trial, Thomas hung his head low.

"I'm dying every day in there," he said, "and that could take three years."

Still, even in prison, that's two years and 46 weeks more than his son got in this world.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I just don't get it. Emmett was fed with soy formula.

Formula - not soy milk. Babies can thrive on soy formula just fine. Only a couple of true ignorami would just give a baby soy milk.

brillig

I doubt prison food meets vegan requirements.

Our wings are not tired.

My mother didn't breastfeed and my sister couldn't have dairy. The doctor had her feed her rice water. I don't know what kind of formula options were available 60 years ago. I'm certain any number of vegan organizations could have helped these parents had they actually noticed their child was starving to death.

Smokey skies with winds blowing it all around, and no rain. The forecast is less than lovely. [link] From the Miami Herald:

State officials said 233 brush fires raged through 52 of the state's 67 counties, consuming nearly 100,000 acres in Florida and more than 150,000 acres in southern Georgia.

And Alligator Alley is closed again for fires and DH is on the other side of it. Not that he is finished his work and ready to go, but still he couldn't if he was ready to go.

One of my uncles was supposedly given guinness as a substitute, but considering he isn't pickled, it must've been mixed in with something or boiled or just a crazy story. (This was 65+ years ago.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I mean, they were extremely stupid, but....

Stupid jail. I'm just saying.

Stupid and hopefully heartbroken. But I'm not reading any more to find out.

There are shades of vegan, I think. Some will eat honey, some won't. I'm not sure if there are other borderline foods.

We have some vegan friends--they're absolutely the most fun to tease. Especially the guy, who has VEGAN tattooed in v. large letters on his leg. They invited us out for raw food, and it was miserable and frustrating and made me want to toast a cow in the outdoor heating thingies. Fucking cold food.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Bleah. I have developed a sore throat. Ah, well, things could be worse...
