You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Or pie.

Oh & people asked serious questions specific to this mission and sometimes it was technical. But the last question, from a kid? Was the pee question.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

How do you pee in space? I still want to know that -- they aren't always cathed, are they?

Also, I would like some schadenfreude pie. Or maybe ice cream.

Also also, this is why I don't take medicine: I hate the claritin-equivalent I took! My mouth is super dry, my sinus are still stuffed, and I'm still blowing my nose. I call bullshit.

Always Anti-fascist!

(loving Hec for the quotage) I'll play Timmy's part: Can I quote you on that? Seriously, I might have respected P. Hil just a tiny bit if she'd shut the fuck up and just jail, already. You did it. Take your time like a woman, at least.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Maybe she couldn't breastfeed? I don't know of any existing infant formulae that aren't dairy based. Are there any? (Please understand I'm not defending, just trying to understand.)

In happier news, since no one came over to chop my squash last night (what good is it belonging to a collective if no one will cook for you?) I had a failed attempt at making impromptu arepas. But they were miserable; I didn't have the right corn flour. So anyway, today I ate a hearty breakfast, and then cooked dinner for lunch so I was less lazy. I chopped all the requisite vegetables and ended up with a tasty squash risotto, one of our favorite (Mario Batali) dishes.

Except I accidentally put twice the called-for butter in, thus making this probably the least healthy vegetarian meal ever. Whoops. But it was delish and it made a big giant pot and I can have more whenever I want!

And now I can get back to work.

They don't. Well, not in the suits, at least. The kid was asking specifically about while in the suits, which they are in for 6-8 hours a shot. Dehydration kinda makes it a non-issue (and honestly, I can last that long without so ...)

I vaguely recall something about vacuums for the non-suited case. But that may be from some 3-2-1- Contact episode I saw when I was 9, so...

What is even happening?

There are soy-based formulas. I don't know if they're acceptable for vegans, but I think someone upstream mentioned there are some which are.

There is soy formula.

Also, I'm going to vote for cheese fries being the least healthy vegetarian meal ever.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, then, I'll go with inexcusably stupid. Unrelated to veganism.

I dunno. I had cheese, I had fried, *and* I had butter and onions and rice and squash. And more butter. And extra cheese for sprinkling. Oh, and wine.

cheese fries being the least healthy vegetarian meal ever

I thought cheese wasn't vegetarian--or is it OK if the provider of the protein doesn't die for the cause? Is that the dividing line between vegetariand and vegan?
