Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, I like that. Proflowers is cheaper than most order online flowers, as far as I can tell, but nothing beats actually calling your local florist.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I am back at work. Probably. It's possible this is all a dream....

OMG, plants hate me today. Or I hate them. Either way.

I'd need to call my sister to find out who the local florist is, these days. I just, you know, don't want to be the absentee kid with the lame gift.

Some time ago, I ran across something that mom would like, and so I planned to use mother's day as an excuse to give it to her. Of course, I did not purchase it at the time.

Do I even recall what it was? No.

Our wings are not tired.

While in Atlanta we visited Frock of Ages [link] and saw so many lovely things. Many prettier hats and frocks than listed on the website. I purchased a couple lovely embroidered hankies for my mother. She always has a ladies hanky in her bag. It was fun to find something I think she will actually enjoy and use.

I could wish I just felt a little less, well, unemployable at the moment.

Theodosia is quite employable for the lucky employer that snatches her up. Having interviewed so many people that had zero qualifications it is like a breath of fresh air when someone articulate and experienced shows up for an interview.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'm trying to figure out what to send my mom for Mother's Day. Is there a site for sending pretty yet not ridiculously expensive plants? I love my mom, but I'm not spending $100 to send her an orchid.

I hear that Martha Stewart has started a flower line.

Yep. Cause proflowers or whoever is going to call the local guy, and the service gets most of the money. You’d be better off calling a florist in your mom’s town and having something sent.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Proflowers's schtick is that they bypass the local guy and get you the flowers fresher and younger:

Our technology allows us to eliminate multiple intermediaries from the legacy supply chain, thereby realizing significant cost advantages and higher margins.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Ripening talk reminds me of Izzard. "Pears can just fuck right off!"

Don't want to even think about mother's day. Too much stuff squeezed into this month.

Speaking of which, Mr. Jane and I were discussing our anniversary this weekend (not that it was this weekend, that's just when we were talking about it). After watching Veronica Mars, he's decided that we are to have an us and friends thing on the Saturday following. Which is yay for me because I like big to do's and we haven't had one celebrating us since the wedding. This is going to be our 10th, so it's good timing.

Other anniversary plans include, going to dinner and to see "Taming of the Shrew" on the actual night. He's getting me a boxing dummy, and I'm getting him pierced. We're so fucking romantic.
