Natter Area 51: The Truthiness Is in Here
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Of the two medical studies forwarded to me recently, Rick, I certainly give more credence to the idea that migraines make me stupid. Retarding memory loss? Not yet here, that's for sure.
So, according to the surgeons, my aunt Carol's OPEN HEART SURGERY went well, better than expected. Which, yeah, good, considering OHS! Now if only dad actually recalled the details. I like details. Provides a semblence of control. Dad canb't recall a detail to save his life. Oh well. Aunt Carol is alive and ok.
I definitely don't feel as mentally sharp as I was in college. More frequently right due to life experience, sure, but the ol' gray matter does not work with the same speed and efficiency of memory as it did back in the late 80s and early 90s. And while I'm as technically proficient as I've ever been (except maybe with oils, which I've used once in the last decade), I know I'm not as creative or prolific with regard to my artwork.
On the flip side, the part of my brain that governed worrying about what other people think seems to have experienced a nearly complete early die-off.
This [link] is probably part of my current feeling of stupid.
I was totally dumber than when I was in university before the onslaught of migraines. But the major thing is--I'm really quite dumb while I'm having migraines, and if you count the ones with no pain too, well, I don't want to tot up what %age of my waking life is spent with one active. It's depressing enough as is.
And in migraine news: happy happy joy joy.
I've had a few of the mini-stroke things without the migraines. (Dunno what caused them.) They're starting to think they're fairly common, but they've only recently noticed the extent of the problem due to the recent popularity of MRI brain scans.
I'm scheduled to die of a stroke anyway (I think that's how all my grandparents went), so this is just warmup.
Anyone here ever used Google checkout for payments of stuff?
I had some Americone Dream a few weeks ago. It was plenty tasty to me; too much, instead, and so I'm back on the diet. Bah.
Still, I thought it was very yummy.
