Is it excessively pissy of me to be annoyed at my roommate for putting dirty dishes into the dishwasher at the same time that I'm unloading it, especially when it leads me to start putting away dirty dishes? There's efficient, and then there's just plain stupid.
No. Not at all. That is completely justified pissy.

I don't know but I got into a grump with JZ this morning about dishes, so it might be something in the air.
Yeah, that seems reasonable, Theo.
Theo, sounds fair. Unless...no, I'm coming up blank on an unless.
Dean at M.I.T. Resigns, Ending a 28-Year Lie
Marilee Jones, the dean of admissions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, became well known for urging stressed-out students competing for elite colleges to calm down and stop trying to be perfect. Yesterday she admitted that she had fabricated her own educational credentials, and resigned after nearly three decades at M.I.T. Officials of the institute said she did not have even an undergraduate degree.
Not only is it fair -- I know I'd be fairly annoyed just to have another person right there at my elbow while I'm trying to do something.
Dean at M.I.T. Resigns, Ending a 28-Year Lie
yes, that's caused quite a stir around here, as you can imagine. I thought of linking it a couple days ago (story broke on Thursday) but decided not to...
Crazy! But I can see how it could have happened, given the institutional culture and historical context.
I wonder what it's like living with a lie like that for so long.
Must be a strange feeling.
Unrelatedly, I have an assload of comics it's not worth me storing any more. I could just dump them, but it feels weird. They're not special, worth anything, or particularly complete storylines.
What does one do?
Yeah, that MIT story was bananas.
