On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I went wine-tasting in Sonoma yesterday, ate two excellent meals, watched two episodes of SPN ("Asylum" explains "Scarecrow" quite well, really), and generally had a great day. This morning I fed my houseguests an omelette and now we're lounging around before watching last night's Stargate and then they'll trundle away.

I was a bit nervous about having K's 16-foot U-Haul parked in front of my house for a few days, but it's not been disturbed, so that's been nice.

I love three-day weekends!

ita, I hope you wake up feeling much better

I confused the hell out of a baby pharmacist today:

I'd like a box of xyz syringes, please.

Can I see your diabetic id?

(um, this is new)

It's not for me, it's for my cat.

Do you have Cat's card?

Um, he's feline, furry cat. He doesn't have a card. I've never been asked for one before.

He goes off to consult with the senior pharmacist, who gets my box of needles. The baby pharmacist looked so confused by the whole thing. I'm guessing he's used to working in the back, and was pinch-hitting the checkout because it was so busy.

Anywho, got the outside errands done. Launderating now. Debating cleaning. I may leave that for the morning. But I do think I'll pick up while the laundry is going.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I feel better as long as I don't use the left arm much.

So mostly in bed, pouting and reading.

It's sweet, I know, that krav people call to find out if I'm okay if I miss one day, and kinda funny that when I called in to say I wouldn't be there today the guy who answered asked if I were "still sick." I don't remember telling him I was sick at all. News travels, and inaccurately, because sick isn't quite the word.

Still, I don't like explaining the whole thing, so I'm kinda dodging the humans.

And even this much typing has set off a throbbing in my neck.

Back to vegging.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

The fridge has been moved outside. Everything on it and in it cleaned and we unearthed the secret magnetic alphabet of Emeline from underneath, along with a dust mammoth.

Closer....closer....

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I spent the remainder of the afternoon vegging in front of the TV. My tummy remains mostly upset, but I put some food in it anyway. Le Sigh....

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have a Polgara in my living room.
