Sweet lumpy minion, you're the only one that understands. Probably 'cause I haven't sucked the brain out of you yet.

Coding and Sleeping

My mother would periodically confine me to my room.

When Leif gets mad sometimes he will confine himself to his room. If he is really mad he'll lock the door and barricade it. Unlocking the door is easy enough but the little bugger can build a good barricade.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

In non-disciplinary news, I weighed myself for the first time in about three weeks. Now, for the past three weeks, the diet has been (mostly) followed, but exercise has been pretty much non-existent (no energy due to sinus infection), so I was expecting to be at close to the same weight I was at Easter.

I've lost 11 pounds since then--I'm now down 78.2 pounds total since January!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy crap, Kathy -- that's amazing!

I am not in my own office today, and I'm totally sleepy, and I can't really focus on the work I'm supposed to be getting done. Bleh.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Red sheep of Scotland

Could it be a new art form? Painting live sheep and cattle in bright, brilliant colors might become the next big fad in Scotland. One farmer painted his flock of sheep (grazing on a pasture just off M-8 highway at Bathgate in West Lothian) bright red , aiming to entertain passing motorists and to "spice things up" a little. Well, everybody liked the view so much that it became an attraction in itself, and now they even consider using different colors, such as pink. The animals apparently do not mind being sprayed with animal-friendly dye, and will remain red until sheared.

Also,

In July 2003, Britain's "most celebrated graffiti artist" Banksy covered a live cow with the images of Andy Warhol's face: >[link]

Heh.

Kathy, that's amazing! Go you!

I am currently in search of local freezer space. I sent a box this size to school for a colleague to put into her deep freezer. I have a smaller box in the freezer here. I figure I'll need about 4 more of the big boxes and places to put them. In the meantime I'll happily farm the smaller flat boxes to localistas with freezer space.

Ugh.

NICU census is now up to 34 babies. That's 10 new admits over the past 36 hours. The most stable of babies in A are being moved. Mine are staying put, which gives me mixed feelings.
