Heh. Elevator butt.

What did you just call Lee?! Shocking!

I hope dog is okay. As above, some bland chicken and rice, or baby food and rice might go down easier.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Some great stuff coming out of this debate:

Worst political mistake you've made in the past four years:

"Believing the President"

"Voting for the war in Iraq"

"Overestimating the competence of this administration and underestimating the arrogance"

Hillary also brought up the health care mess from back in the day, and others did similarly - it wasn't just taking the easy answer.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I did not know that Bligh had more than one mutiny under him! Talk about a black mark on one's record. First time, shame on the mutineers, but second time --!

He was Governor of New South Wales some years after his Bounty command. And, yes, there was a mutiny. Being Australia, it was called the Rum Rebellion. In Bligh's defence, he was sent out there with a brief to clean up corruption in the NSW Corps.

Oh, and this is a great quote from Wikipedia:

Even before his arrival [in NSW], Bligh's style of governance led to problems with his subordinates. The Admiralty gave command of the Porpoise and the convoy to the lower ranked Captain Joseph Short and Bligh took command of a transport ship. This led to quarrels which eventually resulted in Captain Short firing across Bligh's bow in order to force Bligh to obey his signals. When this failed, Short tried to give an order to stand by to fire on Bligh's ship. Bligh boarded the Porpoise and seized control of the convoy.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

-t, I hope your doggy is okay! I hate it when animals get sick.

Speaking of dogs, I was shocked when my sister told me that they managed to sell four out of the five puppies their dog had for $1000 total, even though they were mixed breed dogs! Apparently, the AKC does allow registration for some mixed breeds, including the mix that their two dogs produce. They were going to get the female, Ergo, fixed, but since the puppies proved to be profitable, they're thinking maybe not. They will be getting the male puppy that they kept fixed, though, so he doesn't go at Mom when he reaches sexual maturity.

(Now if she'd actually lie down rather than this crouch with random elevator butt moments...)

Amarna loves to jump on top of my chest when I'm lying on the couch and stand above me, meowing down into my face at full volume, all while kneading away on my chest and stomach.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Apparently, the AKC does allow registration for some mixed breeds, including the mix that their two dogs produce.

No they don't. There are plenty of places out there that'll sell official-looking certificates on any mix of anything, though -- most of which have names and seals that are deliberately meant to deceive puppy buyers. All-American Kennel Club and suchlike.

I don't mean to say anything against your sister's dogs or the pups' right to have great homes, to be very clear about it, but the registry is pretty much the dog equivalent of a phishing scam. It sounds like your sis and the puppy buyers all got taken -- but I'd hate to see her looking to the same thing as a money-maker in the future.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Guess who has been talking back to his school teacher? Oh and who pushed two kids this week?

If you guessed the same one who now has no tv, music, computer games, or choice of bedtime stories - then you are a winner.

so clearly testing boundaries it is almost cute and WOW does he hate when mom is disappointed. pleading tear-filled eyes, then pouting and "you are NO fun, I want to go back to Ethiopia."

yes,yes dearheart I know you want to hurt my feelings, just sit at the table until you can be nice and act right. works so much better than yelling at him for stuff like this.

anyway, upside is I am in bed at 9 and can do some work and still beat my normal bedtime.

Gravel and Chris Matthews now just got into a fight about something that happened in 1972.
