But just think -- in 20 years, you'll still remember who those people were!
I finally met my neighbor on Saturday and within 5 seconds of her telling me her name I forgot it.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I'm pretty much that way with everyone I meet. I have to make a conscious effort (usually involving a mnemonic device) to remember someone's name after I've been introduced to them, otherwise I'll forget.
Nope. That seems all a million years away.
I think a lot might depend on how it's received. Could bomb. Could do well.
I was in Borders this weekend, and I checked out the humor section, which is where I'll likely be shelved. I'll be somewhere on the same shelf as Dave Barry, which cracks my shit up.
Anyway, I saw four books by a new author sitting there, and thought, "oh, it's her first book. And there's four copies sitting there. Maybe I should buy one."
Even though I wasn't interested in the subject matter. I just wanted to give her a sale. I was totally projecting.
Russell Simmons and Benjamin Chavis, leaders of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, said Monday that the recording and broadcast industries should voluntarily censor the "misogynistic" words "bitch" and "ho" and the "racially offensive" n-word from future recordings.
I get all tangled over this issue. I do not find the words themselves (only speaking to 'bitch' and 'ho' here, as I do not get to tell other people what should be racially offensive to them, only what is to me) offensive. It's all about context for me. I'd be happier about a statement that was less about individual words and more about, "Hey let's look at how we're portraying women in our music and whether that's a message we want to put out there."
David, that's awesome! Clearly you work best under an oppressive deadline.
Jesse, that is not helping me now when my headache making me want to kill people.
But just think -- in 20 years, you'll still remember who those people were!
Just maybe not all the time. When my father had his episode of transient global amnesia, the doctors said there seemed to be some correlation to having migraines as a kid.

It's funny sad because it's true.
Speaking of which I have to get back to the book.
I've been very productive the last week as I've been doing what I think of as the exposition parts. Things which were just roughed out and noted, but now I've got to fill them out. It's going well.
Go team Hec!
We should all get together for a Buffista Book Tour.
TOTALLY BUFFISTA BOOK TOUR.
Just maybe not all the time. When my father had his episode of transient global amnesia, the doctors said there seemed to be some correlation to having migraines as a kid.
Huh. That sounds terrifying.
That's cool Hec! Though I would have loved to be able to pass along tidbits like "Best Shared Delusion about the Civil War" "Best Myths about Our Ancestors", "English to Southern Glossary" and "Dirtiest Joke about Southern Belles."
