I just heard on the news that David Halberstam was killed in a car accident.I googled, because I didn't recognize his name. The wikipedia-people are fast:
David Halberstam (April 10, 1934 - April 23, 2007) was an American journalist and author. Halberstam graduated from Harvard University with a degree in journalism in 1955 and started his career writing for the Daily Times Leader in West Point, Mississippi. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, writing for the Nashville Tennesseean, he covered the beginnings of the American Civil Rights Movement.(and at the end)
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the San Mateo County coroner has confirmed Halberstam's death in a traffic accident approaching the Dumbarton Bridge on April 23, 2007.[1] At the time of his death, Halberstam was working on a book about the Korean War. He lived in New York City.[link]
Neighbor T made honor roll! Yay!
So good.
I'm feeling overwhelmingly sad today.
Aw, hon, I'm sorry there are days like that.
Yeah. Me too. Some doogooder sent me the link to this documentary: [link] Frankly, I don't need to read or see it. I'm living it.
Oh my god, why would anyone send that to you?
It is amazing what people think is helpful.
OK, I got as far as the splash page and..yeah, no.
I'm so sorry about the sad, Kat. You're under an awful lot of stress, which is so hard.
