ah! I thought you meant up the road from your work and was going to have to get on the neighborhood new business gossip hotline pronto.
That's cool though!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Happy Birthday Tom!
Popping back in after 4 month disappearance to say "Hi" to those who remember me (I've been lurking for a couple weeks trying to catch up). WOW! I think I missed nearly 3 whole Natter threads. And, Happy Birthday to Tom.
People! (Not y'all) If I tell you everyone is booked, there is no way I can "just squeeze you in." I do not have anyone available. I cannot just conjure up another person to serve you. If I could, I'd have a stable of cabana boys by now.
Happy Birthday Tom!
And yay for Allyson! table displays are a good thing!
A group I belong to - for women associated with books in some way - had a meeting a while ago and while waiting for it to begin we were talking and the subject of web sites came up. I proudly announced that I knew of someone whose web site had developed into a book. Of course, they wanted to know what it was about and I said "internet fandoms". (long silence and puzzled faces) They were wondering how many fans of the internet there could be ... so I had to explain.
Jesse, were you saying at some point that you'd been to Campbell Apartment? Trying to find a bar in the area.
I have been there. It's overpriced, but nice enough. Pershing Square across the street is less overpriced, but often full of tools. Not that Campbell Apartment isn't! There's also a Campbell Porch or some shit, outside the Apartment, with worse lighting and seats, and I don't know about the prices.
When I pimp the book, I always say, "It's about community and relationship and the entertainment industry." Which is working well for generating interest, but now that I think about it, once they actually read it, I'll be Buffy-fan outed again.
In other news, the Biscuit & I just had a huge wrestling match wherein he took on me and & the office chair. It was very amusing, but he is now happily conked out. He's upside down, right behind my chair. And he's so happy his tail is wagging, but without any way to brace himself, his whole back half is wagging, including his legs waving in the air.
Also, since you've moved up the release date, does that mean my independent bookstore will get it earlier, too? Do I have to tell them the date's been moved up, or will it just come in?
eta: Hee. Now Seabiscuit is offended that I mocked him on the internets and he's stalked out of the room. He's flounced and flopped just outside of the door, looking at me balefully.
does the book mention this website by name?
It's peppered throughout the book, yes.

Maybe there needs to be an edition with code words to hide the Buffy connection. Instead of Buffy the Vampire Slayer it could be Bucky the Van Tire Sailor or something.
