The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I take it they're still mysteriously hanging with you?

I've only seen her once, and that was Scola's b-day.

Maybe next weekend though.

Or the one after.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Plei, thanks for the info!

Okay headed to the hospital. Is it a bad sign when the nurses just see you on the monitor and buzz you in without you having to say anything? Or when the valets recognize you on sight? Or when the other ward nurses, not where your kids are, stop you and ask about your kids?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Congratulations, Jon!

I wonder if anyone aspired to have the title Food Stylist, or if it's just a stepping stone to something bigger.

I had a strange career talk with a student instructor today. She's worried that a job opportunity that will take her from her stressful partner-track job and give her more free time to teach both krav and at a community college in addition to a $20K raise is a career dead end.

Those shoes are fucking gold-plated latinum. Still, she's tense about what to do if she gets the offer. I wish her all the opportunity for decision anguish in the world.

I need to know if my friend B had a 9 to 5 when he started krav, and if krav had an influence in him becoming a freelancer. It's a gig that welcomes people with flexible schedules, like students or personal trainer or actor if you're not trying to make it too big.

And then there are those of us that make our job decisions with krav in mind--how much can I train? How much can I teach?

Buncha sickos.

we have had a monkey scrubbing pad in the kitchen in heavy use for about a month now

Heh. I need new kitchen towels (why am I blanking--is that what they're called, those handtowels for the kitchen?) and I now have to go look for Hello Kitty ones.

I call them dish towels.

And also - Ben & Jerry's new Creme Brulee is my new favorite food. This could prove to be problematic.

Dish towels! Great. This will make for simpler froogling.

There was a krav mention in ER this week. I like it that we're still either trendy or old school. Actually, considering the ref, old school.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Incidentally, tommyrot, my Vi from The Incredibles is still Mint In Box.

Mine too.

Mine is, too. Or was. Until I sold it in the yard sale for $1.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I think that's NICU normal.

I got that for a while in the Cardiac Care Unit, though the nurses would look at me and say, "Oh, no, he's back again?"

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I think it is good to be known at the hospital - if you have to be there a lot it is easier if they know who you are.
