Riley: Oh, yeah. Sorry 'bout last time. Heard I missed out on some fun. Xander: Oh yeah, fun was had. Also frolic, merriment and near-death hijinks.

Chuck E. Cheese. Heehheee. We didn't have one when I was growing up, we had Peter Piper Pizza. Same concept.

My hair is cut, groceries shopped and my windows are washed. Well, except the outside of the bedroom and dining room ones, cause those I can't reach. Sunset will probably find me touching up streaks. I used the squeegee and vingegar on the outside balcony doors and man that worked well. Stinks, but worked. I'm kinda sweaty now. I'm feeling all accomplished and shit. I may vacuum the bedroom rug.

It's gorgeous out. I wandered around Ellicott City for a while, visited Bob the Official Antique Mart cat. Everyone was out on the sidewalks with goofy grins, turning their faces into the sun. I think we were missing spring. I think tomorrow I may run out to the Arboretum for a bit. And wear shorts! After I shave my legs.

And I just busted yet another water glass. I guess I'm going to Target at some point soon.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Awww... good kitty!

Cat wakes from nap to save family

A cat helped spare a family in the US state of Indiana from death by carbon monoxide poisoning by jumping on the bed and meowing wildly as fumes filled the home, the owners said.

Eric and Cathy Keesling said their 14-year-old cat, Winnie, played a crucial role in saving their lives on March 24 after a petrol-powered water pump in their basement caused the odourless, but deadly, gas to build up.

About 1am, the domestic shorthair began nudging Cathy's ear and meowing loudly.

"It was a crazy meow, almost like she was screaming," said Cathy, who hesitated to get up until Winnie's wailing and jumping persisted.

When she finally climbed from bed, she realised she was nauseous and dizzy and couldn't awaken her husband. Because he had undergone minor neck surgery the previous day, she decided to call 911, but was so disoriented she had trouble dialling.

Paramedics found the couple's 14-year-old son, Michael, unconscious on the floor near his bedroom.

The Keeslings were taken from the home in oxygen masks, treated for carbon monoxide poisoning and soon recovered.

Cathy Keesling said Winnie acted similarly last summer when tornadoes tore through the area, 72 kilometres east of Indianapolis.

"I really believe cats can sense these kind of things," she said.

Thrive to spite them

Anyone watching the detriot Calgary game?

Calgary put their back up goalie in, who slashed a Detroit player and AFTER the play took his stick double handed and hit the guy again!!!

Unbelievable!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG. I'm watching some idiotic show on VH1, and they just called out Sienna Miller for having too-big big toes. I have that! I like to think of it as naturally pointy feet.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Just to double check: Sinuses aren't supposed to tingle, are they?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I don't believe so, Lee.

Factoid of the Day - fruity girly drinks are good for you!

A fruity cocktail may not only be fun to drink but may count as health food, U.S. and Thai researchers said on Thursday.

Adding ethanol -- the type of alcohol found in rum, vodka, tequila and other spirits -- boosted the antioxidant nutrients in strawberries and blackberries, the researchers found.

Any colored fruit might be made even more healthful with the addition of a splash of alcohol, they report in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I suppose I might take that as a good sign -- all the way down on the drive from Somerville to my Mom's in PA, I saw NO Bush-Cheney bumperstickers on cars. Usually by the time I get to NY I'll have waved my fist two or three times, and as you get further south I usually see more. This time, nothin'. Yes, it's further on from the last election and all, but still, I like to think that it means nobody supports them at this point....

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Jess, I love the last line of that article.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Holy transit hell, Batman! I got out of work shortly after 5pm. Waited, and waited..... and waited for my bus. After 40-45 minutes (they're supposed to run every 10 minutes and they claim there are more running during construction) a 147 finally shows up and it is PACKED. No room. I wait a few more minutes in case another is right behind. No luck. So I walk a few blocks to the nearest train station. No northbound trains. All northbound trains are traveling on the elevated tracks instead of the subway this weekend. Take southbound train to nearest elevated station (along with several hundred Cubs fans and a handful of Cards fans) then take northbound train. Got home around 7:30.

I really need to run errands and I so don't want to now.
