I always find the analogous, "Why did you want children?" to be nearly impossible to answer.
Joe asks me this sometimes because my desire for more children is definitely stronger than his, but I can't ever provide a really satisfying answer. I just do. A blog I follow dealt with this question a while back and it was very interesting to me how many people felt the same way.

I keep (arrogantly) thinking that I may want to switch to a pseud for a little while when the book first comes out. To avoid crazies coming here to take a hit in case I used some wrong word choice about BtVS or Firefly.
I wanted children because I'm selfish. And because there was too much sleep and not enough bodily fluids in my life. I mean those are the cocktail party answer.
