I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Maybe you could ask for the occasional weekend grocery-run favor from the would-be-car-giver as a guilt-reducing move? You could give her gas money and then you'd both be ahead!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Speaking of enviro things - I just got a new phone and the box came with a postage paid envelope to send the old one (any old ones) to their recycling center. Neat.

Yeah. I really liked that about my new phone too. That's Virgin Prepaid trying to be all hip. Kids these days, with their saving the planet....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I love Dave Chappelle with a deep and abiding love, and my jealousy of those 150 people is pretty boundless.

It took me a while to remember what's going on. I came home at lunch time because I felt a cold trying to kill me, and I slipped my sleep mask on and went beddy bye. Waking up was a stressful and disoriented experience.

I think I shall have to go back to sleep again, but perhaps a jaunt to get something full of vitamin C at the very least is in order.

I hate those kind of wakeups.

Today is the seventh anniversary of my friend's stepson coming to live with them. It's been rocky at times, but he's a likeable (and normal sometimes annoying!) teenager who dotes on his little sister, calls my friend "Mom" and now can actually articulate his feelings about his biomom's abandonment and manipulation without spiralling down. I'm so proud of them and him. And happy. Just really happy. He was such a broken little boy when they finally managed to get custody.

hip deep in pie

Buffista diversity: some of us want a cabana boy; others, pneumatic tubes.

Do I have to choose?

Seriously, I mean, someone has to open the tubes for me.

Happy Birthday Sheryl.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A big jug of the expensive OJ, I think, and lemons for a toddy. That'll cure what ails me. Or at least make me feel good.

Hmm. Now earwormed with James Brown, which is better than that one verse from Cat's Cradle that was driving me round the bend.

Happy birthday, Sheryl.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Thank you! Just got back from dinner at a Greek place that does small dishes(DCistas, it's kinda along the lines of Zaytinya). Am a little tipsy since I had a peach "martini"(it had Absolute Peach, peach schnappes, chambord and champaigne. Yum!)with dinner.

Buffista diversity: some of us want a cabana boy; others, pneumatic tubes.

...So nobody else went to a Brave New World place with "pneumatic tubes"? Because I seriously couldn't believe that hadn't been COMMed by the time I read it. And then I thought, "Maybe I'm the only one interpreting that in a filthy way. In which case, I win!"
