I'm reporting to you one block from the finish line. The corner office here on the 6th floor (whose occupant told me I could stop by anytime) doesn't quite have a view of the finish line, but I'll probably stop in anyway to check out the madness.

Why do people try to drive through flooded areas? That trick never works. I saw two cars and an ambulance stuck up to their roofs in a flooded area of highway on my way to work. I never got to work; I couldn't find an open route, and the gov declared a state of emergency and told us to stay off the roads, so I came home. There are police cars and ambulances on every road and sirens keep going off.

My ex just emailed me a picture of the flooding near his house; it reminded me of when Hurricane Floyd came through. He said, "the psychic next door is underwater! You'd think she'd have seen that coming." Har.

I don't think any of my NJ-based co-workers made it in this morning -- so many roads are completely closed from the floods. (Westchester & CT too.)

• call social worker re: getting kids hooked up for social security payments
• call insurance people at district to make sure they got my paperwork
• call case manager to see if I get a case manager
• call CCS to see if Noah and Grace qualify or not
• get more dish detergent
• return stuff to Target and pick up Flickr'd photos
• oil change
• call my doc to see if I can get permission to go back to work in the next couple of weeks or so.

Ugh. That is all scheduled around hanging out with kidlets.

World's biggest dog! Except maybe it's Photoshopped!

I say photoshop. If nothing else, if you look at weights of large breed dogs, that thing should weigh a lot more than 282 lbs.

Yep. Last night I only had the energy to crawl home, unpack, and finally watch the season finale of Friday Night Lights. And tonight I may need a nap before I watch the new Who and tackle my pile of laundry.

I had to play shower games. There was an incident with a candle and hot wax. I'd met the bride for approximately five minutes before I was under her skirt in the hotel lobby fussing with her bustle.
