Tom, I'm glad you made it back to NY. I hope you get to catch a good chunk of the show.
I've had a feline race in the foreground of Drive.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Yay! I'm glad to see you made it, Tom.
Glad you made it home, Tom.
It is STILL raining. Hard. Where is all this water coming from? Is the Atlantic still there? Roads around here were already flooding this morning; I'm gonna need to build an ark just to get to work tomorrow.
yes. my parents are in SC on the water - gust of at least 50 mph, a steady 35 right now ( we got dad a weather station for Christmas) high tides of 9 feet - before the winds are factored. Foam has been hitting their windows -- and they are above and away from the water by a good amount.
I ate too much candy. Bleh.
I took too much nap.
I am very glad that I live on top of a hill. The flooding here seems to have become severe.
Yeah, they are reporting sewage backups in east B'more. Which is making me really grateful for renting a 3rd floor apartment in NW B'more. I mean, I want a house. I want a rowhouse. But I really, really, really gross out over raw sewage in my house. I'd want to move. I have had nightmares during hurricanes about mold and mildew (yeah, I'd be GONE.) When I was in NC for Hurricane Francis, the sub-basement flooded (I lived in a semi-basement of someone's home near a lake) and it freaked me out big-time. The idea of water of unknown origin fermenting 3 feet below me is just...gross.
My parents were talking about a nor'easter back in the 60s/70s when they lived in Scituate, Mass. The ocean invaded their front yard and slapped their windows with foam. Threw a picnic table through their neighbor's picture window. I crossed Scituate off my list of places to live. Ooky water in wrong places is not my thing.
Aw -- I have family in Scituate, but they're kind of in the woods.
My parents rented a summer beach house. Except they were there for 2 years, so they got winter too. Mom recalls the cold drafts, cause beach houses aren't ideal for that. They were a block or two from the water. Last I was in the Boston area, I tried to find the house, but with public transit, it wasn't doable as far as I could figure out. I got as far as Quincy (eta: or maybe Hingam, it's been a while) en route to Worlds End, which was lovely.
