I think I'm gonna have to start vacuuming once a week. OMG, the cathair! Spring...

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I spent most of an hour out in the garden, raking up all the leaves that I should have taken care of last fall.... A couple of my columbines are coming up strong... in the middle of the lawn. Ah well.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Back from MTT. I'm tired and my hair smells like wood smoke.(lots of camp fires) In a little bit the four of us meet G's dad and stepmom for Thai food.

Also, I have a ridiculous tape pileup mostly due to my folks being here. Why is everything airing this weekend?(I know, I know, my diamond shoes are too tight)

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Had a great time at ChiKat's last night!

Chatted with my mom, who just got back from a week in Florida with my brother and his two younger kids (the oldest, Clayton, had a band thing during spring break so had to stay at home, and SIL had to get back to teaching on Tuesday, so her week off didn't coordinate with her kids, unfortunately). They all had a great time, and she really enjoyed the time she spent with the 11-y.o., who is at that age where he's starting to become less affectionate and communicative, but he actually put his arm around her waist while they were coming back from the pool on Thursday and told her what a great time he'd had with her that week!

Also, Clayton, who is a junior in high school and just starting to look at colleges, has decided he wants to come out here to Chicago for school!!! If he does (and I know how often you can change your mind in a year while deciding), that would be so terrific! I can be the Cool Aunt who comes to pick him up at the dorm and takes him out for dinner and a movie when he wants to get away from the roomate.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I got things off my procrastination list today! I got a pair of boots repaired, used a four-year-old Crate & Barrel gift certificate (cashier: "I didn't know we issued gift certificates anymore"), took care of a six-months-overdue personal appointment, and I might have time to make some chicken stock.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I went to my bedroom to read a little, and ended up napping for two hours. WTF? I am seriously not a napper. I must actually still be fighting this stupid cold, more than I would have thought.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

She has a nasty almost-psychic trait I've grown to hate ever since, the morning after I lost my virginity, she called to ask how I was doing and if any of my friends had done anything special for me the day before.
::blink::

hip deep in pie

I had a visit from the Welcome Wagon today. Of course they arrived when I was mid-nap and my place was in shambles (even by my very low standards). I felt the very proper welcome wagon lady looking askance at the crap everywhere.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That is the best (most awful!) story ever, ita! What in the world did you say to her? I would have mumbled and and stammered and probably confessed.

That's classic, Sue. Welcome Wagon ladies should allow a decent interval!

Jesse, colds will take it out of you. Mine sucks because it doesn't feel that bad, actually, until I try to do anything. And then I feel completely drained and need to lie down for a very long time indeed. But the SO is coming home today, so if he's not too bad sick himself, it should get a little easier. But I've been okay if I manage my energy. I can do stuff, just only in short bursts, and only during the middle of the day. Or the middle of the night, apparently.

I think that's a rule of Welcome Wagons.
