Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I used to drive by it all the time when I lived in Cambridge. The air smells like NECCO wafers when they are cooking some up--very cool. It's near MIT, fairly close to Boston.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

sarameg, it was probably Steve Almond, author of Candyfreak, talking about it?

Mmm... Necco wafers.

Robin, I hope you are feeling better.

Now you are freaking me out. Cause he has a B'more connection, I think. (Maybe lisah?) and I don't know if it was him. More crazy brain failings!

I told my mom she should send you chile cheese bread, when she asked. Given she hasn't even sent me, her OWN DAUGHTER, any, don't hold your breath. But it cracked me up, how she was quizzing me. You want an extra mom?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Did the rest of the country get this cute story about a Queens couple paying a cabbie to drive them to Arizona?

Apparently, because my mom sent it to me.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I used to work near the Necco factory when I lived in Cambridge. Which was cool, except on the days they were making the black ones, because I really don't like licorice that much...

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Necco Wafers are the oldest U.S. product continuously manufactured in unchanged form, dating back to 1847.

I learned this in a trivia game.

Thank you, Kat. I am beginning to be afraid I pulled a stitch or two and that's why I have been feeling so damn achy this past week. I probably should not have gone to get my hair done yesterday, but it had been almost three months and the grey roots were making me look like Fugly McOlderson. Tomorrow, J is going out to a basketball game and I will do NOTHING. WooHoo!
