Jayne: We was just about to spring into action, Captain. Complicated escape and rescue op. Wash: I was going to watch. It was very exciting.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, we nearly gave it up at the strike ourselves. But then the SO's team got Crosby. And Malkin. And Staal. We couldn't help it. We got sucked back in.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You totally should have gone! That's awesome. I'll have to tell the SO.

Yeah, VS schedules the games for like, 2 1/2 hours. No way. Playoff hockey, are you kidding me?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Guess who's not going to bed anytime soon?

I'll be here. I'm a sucker for sports. I cannot stop watching a game once I'm rooting for a team. You can tell the players are even getting tired now.

Hey. What happened to the fights?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Yeah, we nearly gave it up at the strike ourselves.

Me three. I had youth hockey to keep me occupied, but then I couldn't help but watch the continuing train wreck that is the Philadelphia Flyers, and Ovechkin came to play for the Caps. (I still say he's more of a complete player than Crosby.)

You totally should have gone!

My DH did. We didn't know each other at the time, but he and his dad drove up, walked in, and grabbed two seats at center ice, halfway up.

I miss ESPN's coverage of hockey. VS has gotten much better this year, but it's not the same. I need my regular dose of Barry Melrose's oil slick and I miss John Buccigross on my screen.

My sports must have blood or I can't be bothered to care.

LOVE. DJ, may I tag?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Absolutely.

Announcer just called one of us "Fresh as a daisy." It is to laugh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have no narcotics, but a muscle relaxant. Which won't totally work, but it's a start.

I have muscle tension to end all tension. It's as high as my temple, as far forward as behind my chin, as far out as my delt, and reaches down to the scapula.

It's like iron. Tomorrow is the professional massage job, and tonight was a quickie in the parking lot.

And typing is making it worse right now. Must stop.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha! I hate Barry. That's been the only good thing about the lack of coverage; a (relative) lack of him.

And there's a reason I took Ovechkin in my hockey pool. Okay, most of the reason was, the I knew the SO was going to take Crosby. But still. I like Ovechkin. I've got no problem with him. And I don't know what will happen in the future, but it's been a fun (when it's not been completely infuriating) season watching the young blood.

eta: Gah, that sucks, ita. Go get some rest.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

No more typing for you.

If I could mix you the perfect cocktail to relax your bones and make you sleep, I would. Hope the massage tomorrow works.

I've got a shiny new tag. Thank you, DJ.

ita, it's not morphing into the m-word, is it? I hope you get some relief soon.

What happened to the fights?

They typically disappear during the playoffs. Fighting is too costly with the Cup on the line, unless it is absolutely necessary. It has pretty much disappeared from the "new" NHL (regular season) as well. It's not the image that Bettman wants the league to project.

And I don't know what will happen in the future, but it's been a fun (when it's not been completely infuriating) season watching the young blood.

Yep. Though it's been mostly infuriating for me. I'm a Flyers/Caps fan.

Ooh, there's some good hitting still happening. I'm impressed they've got the energy.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

We're going to four!

eta: Man. I'm tired. I'm going to go get a snack. And maybe some tea. Decaf. I can't afford to not go to sleep whenever this (ever!) finishes.
