YAY ALLYSON!!

Yay good Grace surgery. hoping for boring weeks ahead.

I am just sitting down to do three or four things for work. Mac was a giant pill tonight. We had visit 2 of 4 from a social worker in mac's first 12 months here (as required by Ethiopia). GIANT PILL. Shocking only to him, I got to say things like "I know you think that you won't get in trouble because we have a guest, but you are wrong. Keep this up and you will lose toys and tv."

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Save your Confederate money, boys. The South will rise again.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Tobacco fields. Planting tobacco. The stupid finger-pinching seedling-planting machine that got dragged along behind the tractor. Driving the tractor just the right speed for planting evenly. Sunburn. Drying tobacco turning the air inside the barn into solid nicotine. Stripping dried tobacco leaves. Brown stains on fingers. Never even considered smoking after five years of working tobacco.

Okay, nostalgia gone. Thanks.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

24: This season is weird. That is all.

Oy. OK, let's focus all the kid drama to be transmorgified (I think I may have made that up or bastardized it ) to GOOD drama for Allyson.

Mister Mac, behave, ok? Yeah, it's great that you are so comfy as to be a horsepill but really? Not necessary. Your mom love you, which is why she has rules.

I'm a dork. Watching a thing on Uluru or Ayers Rock when I should have gone to bed.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Cats and mice have been enemies for untold generations - as far back as the dawn of animation. But now a new rivalry has developed: Cat vs. tiny RC helicopter.

Three different videos: [link]

Next time you fly in a real helicopter, be thankful there aren't giant house cats about.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I have no south to add, but I liked the idea of talking about humidity. It lends itself to word poetry and is such a universal experience.

When I saw this:

Seriously, that one intersection in Austin with Book People, Waterloo Records, and Whole Foods? Megan heaven.

I forgot who was posting and I was like, what strange new vegan is this?!

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

24: This season is weird. That is all.

I gave up on it two episodes ago, and, given my completist tendencies, that is really saying something.

I forgot who was posting and I was like, what strange new vegan is this?!

Hah!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Chicken and waffles.

I'm eating chicken and waffles right now.
